I know it's a dummy question. But how did you remove the driver side high beam bulb? Tried several times but couldn't pass the pipe which prevented me from taking the bulb out.
I just replaced one CAT recently but mine was confirmed dead. It was clogged.
Last night, I went through several youtube videos on how to tell if the CAT is good, which you may want to check out. Basically, it just measure the temperature difference between inlet and outlet of CAT...
Hello mudders,
While fighting with the gas tank boiling issue, I'm thinking to relocate the gas return line, which is directly bolted to engine, to higher location away from the engine.
Question is what fuel hose to use? Can I use J39R7 or has to be J30R9? ID 8mm 5/16"?
Thank for help.
I guess it doesn't harm to give Macs a try. After all, their charge of misfire diagnose sounds reasonable to me. Another reputable shop referred by my neighbor quoted over $500 for that...
Actually tried it while trying to order some small stuffs. It just bumped the shipping cost from $10 to $40ish. That's why seeking a way to find something locally.
Just measured the connector where the vacuum hose hooks to, it has a OD of about 6.2mm. So it's safe to use a tube with an ID of...
Trying to replace this "HOSE, NO.1(FOR IDLE-UP) Part number: 1703050070". The shorter one on my LX was broken. Not cheap at all at around $55~70 everywhere. May I use any generic hose for it? Any hose to recommend?
Has anyone got it fixed successfully on a LX? Seems there is a shop here or there but want to hear a success story before proceeding.
For now, I can survive with only the Tachometer and rely on Torque on cellphone to get the coolant temperature and speed.
Actually, it's Macs identified the root cause, for just about $180. They also did the compression test.
Tried with the dealer before went to Macs, with the hope that the dealer may have better equipment to find the root cause. It's a big waste of $250 as they just simply did the very basic...
So for all of those method to limit the heat into the gas lines and tank, has anyone tried to wrap the exhaust pipes including CAT and muffler with the fire resistant fibber fabric to actually reduce the radiation heat?
Thinking about this method for lower cost and easier installation...
Just an update that the root cause of misfire with all driver side cylinders should have been identified, with the help from Mac's Complete Auto Repair at Chandler/I-10. Apparently, it's the driver side CAT got clogged causing the issue. Just replaced the CAT and the engine immediately...
Hmmm, not yet. Will try.
However, I constantly only got misfires on the driver side cylinders. Should any issue with such common components impact any cylinder randomly? The timing belt job was done 5 years ago, and not sure if they touched that part when worked on head gaskets.
Oh no. I thought I have updated and apparently it didn't get posted.
Yes, I have tried the new aftermarket coils and the new NGK spark plugs. Both works fine but don't fix the misfires. I still have misfire at all RPM ranges at driver side bank. Mainly on 1 but also noticeable on 3/5/7...
