Who is still running their original radiator? Post up!

I WAS running the original, until it blew on a trip, hour from home. 2006 LX, about 245k when it let go. Get it checked and replaced if necessary. Nothing worse than breaking down on interstate. Especially with two dogs. They had to ride in LX while it was being towed, and they were not happy.

Well it happened, broke down on the road...

It failed at hour 8 of a 9 hour drive, on the interstate. Was able to pull off an exit ramp and shut it off. Worst part was there was nothing at the exit, probably a good thing as I may have been tempted to drive it more.

So far ok. Just need to drive it, check for any leaks, but it seemed to check out ok. Mechanic said to watch the coolant level.

Well it happened, broke down on the road...

Update: it was the radiator. I know it should have been replaced earlier, but didn’t, so for those who haven’t, get yours checked. Mine was original to the vehicle.

Well it happened, broke down on the road...

Thanks for the replies. The vehicle is at home, heading to the shop tomorrow. I trust them and hopefully it’s just a hose somewhere. I wasn’t able to tell where the leak was coming from during the moment, and frankly would rather let the shop take a look. I had mentioned the heater tees in the...

Well it happened, broke down on the road...

2006 LX470, 248000 miles. Heading home from a 600 mile trip, loaded up with my wife and two dogs. About 60 miles from home, check engine light comes on, temp gauge rises all the way up. Fortunately, pulled off exit ramp, gauge went back to low, and that was it. Steam pouring from the under the...

Interior switches, which are lighted ?

Thanks for the reply- Looks like the 'outs', meaning the backlights, are: Rear vent window switch -1 Mirror adjustment switch RSCA switch Heated seat switches-1 I'm assuming these all use the same bulbs, do you happen to know the part number and I'm assuming they all use the same one.

Interior switches, which are lighted ?

2006 LX470 I have a couple of switches that the light is out: seat heater and rear side vent. I obviously know this because only one of each is out, the other is illuminated. Can anyone tell me which switches should be lighted ? I may have more out and just don’t know it. Thanks in advance.

07' LX470 VGRS Delete Parts List

Yep, replaced both. First replaced the actuator, didn’t solve the problem. Then, replaced the ecu and bingo, problem solved. I didn’t do the work, had I’d done by my tech. I’m really not to comfortable with this type of work, and don’t have techstream. Had to go back about a week later for a...

07' LX470 VGRS Delete Parts List

I ended up biting the bullet and replaced the VGRS unit on the steering column and the ECU. FYI - These units were not cheap to replace. First step was to replace the VGRS unit, which did not fix the problem. Next the ECU was replaced, which then fixed the problem. My tech says that...

Accelerator pedal position sensor - P2121

It's a 2006 LX470. I'm no techstream expert, but I'll be taking it for some other, unrelated service, so I'll pass this information along.

Accelerator pedal position sensor - P2121

On the home stretch of a 2400 mile trip, about 300 miles from home, check engine light comes on. Loss of acceleration, pulled over. Fortunately, had a OBD scanner, and the code was P2121 - APPS sensor. I was able to clear the code and made it home without further issue. Dodged a bullet. So, now...

07' LX470 VGRS Delete Parts List

i don’t remember what codes were found. They were unable to be cleared by tech stream, and pointed to a bad actuator on the column. On another thread, there is a detailed pdf with reset instructions, but my mechanic is reluctant to try the procedure. It’s quite frustrating, but i‘m living with...

07' LX470 VGRS Delete Parts List

I have the same issue, been dealing with it for about 4 months. My independent shop doesn’t want to touch it. I took it to another shop, they won’t touch it either, but also recommended your solution. Interestingly, they would not consider installing the LC replacement, due to liability issues...

    2006 LX470 VGRS, VSC,VSCOFF LIGHTS

Nope, still an issue. my mechanic couldn’t clear the code with tech stream. He’s going to try the detailed reset option at some point. I’m not inclined to spend the big $$$$ to fix it, and it drives fine. Now I’m dealing with a check engine light, running lean, so I having that looked at this week.

The code is C1567. Also, I've heard about disconnecting the plug, but not sure where it is to accomplish this.
