Knowing you're pushing the tow limits also (and in Alaska) on weight rating makes me feel better. Do you have any sway trouble with the bikes off the back?
Yep @TeCKis300 is right on both. I got that brand with the 14k rating. Overkill yes, but it pulls really well. Here's the jackets he mentioned too https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08QRH6B38?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
The 14k doesn't come with a ball so had to get that also...
@Artie I got 4 of the 1up racks. I also carry around a step stool to get bikes up there. It's a pain at first, but then you start to figure out tricks the more you use it. Smaller bikes in the middle and as far forward as you can. Then the larger ones on the outside and as far back as you can...
Shoutout to @TeCKis300 for recommending the equalizer hitch in another thread (I can't find at the moment). I initially was trying the Andersen no-sway system which I loved because it was silent and weighed so little but still had more sway than I wanted for my new 27ft (30 nose to bumper)...
Decided on going with Michelin Agilis CrossClimate 275/70R18's since I mainly use the LC for towing our camper. Stock suspension for now but will do that soon also as well as remove those running boards. @gaijin is there a RTPS for this tire (load range E, speed rating R)?
Thanks for the insights @TeCKis300! I definitely know that i'm pushing the limits of an LC with something this long. It was really difficult to find a bunkhouse with a permanent queen bed (no murphy), and no slides in our area
I was considering the Equalizer but wanted to try the Andersen since...
@Chipmaker what WD hitch did you end up going with for your set up. I have a similar size Grand Design (247bh) and don't really like how the Andersen No-Sway 3350 handles. I'm experiencing some sway once I get up over 60. It tows a ton different than my previous airstream. Debating if a hensley...
This sounds eerily similar to what I had going on with my set up (Tekenosha P3) and my camper. The problem could be a combination of your trailer pig tail/7 way plug and the harness in back. I ended up taking some emery paper (could even use some sand paper), pulling the cover back from the pig...
For the water, 2 thoughts, one would be checking the drains in the sunroof to ensure they aren't plugged. Second would be to check under the hood, below the plastic cowl or in the cowl for blockages or breaks in the plastic. Under the plastic is an opening right into your blower motor behind the...
There's multiple touchpoints to the horn and possibly multiple computers based on my googling. I remember some potential in depth diagnostics that could be done to test something in the steering wheel ( i think was call the clockspring). But since the horns were easy to replace and I found the...
I also had this same problem. I went ahead and replaced the horn because I found a cheap deal on Amazon and haven't had an issue since. This was about 2 years ago now or I would recommend what I'm using. That Hella Trumpet I bet would work just fine. Hope it works out for you as easily as for me...
Question for those that moved from the Prodigy P3 to the Redarc, do you use the same wiring harness or was Redarc's different requiring you to pull apart the dash again?
I have an '08 with 153k miles and pull a 6k airstream with the 200 fully loaded with no trouble at all. Went out to Yellowstone and the Tetons (from Ohio) last summer from Ohio and had no trouble pulling up through the Big Horns (or back down for that matter). Just make sure to get an brake...
I tow an airstream with our LC and use the P3. The P3 functions great and is easy to set, but I hate it always hitting my shin. If you're 6ft or above, do the Redarc and save yourself the hassle. Everything I've read about the Redarc (on the forum and off) indicates they're pretty equal in terms...
