L Looks like square doors, maybe as late as 74? I don't know. It'll be a 72 when I'm finished because that's the clean, smog free title I've got...

I don't think there will be second dibs. As soon as I get this guy's phone number, I'm arranging to go and get it. Jesse has already volunteered his car hauler, it's practically a done deal. The first photos came in and it looks to be typical nor cal, rust free body. Front fenders are...

Same process as any rusted old bolt. Soak it with light oil a day or two in advance. Heat it. Soak it again. Scrub the rust off and smack it a few times with a hammer and punch to loosen the rusty threads. Punch insures you don't damage the head hex. Few more drops of oil. Now put a wrench on...

I planted over 200 Marijuana seeds and got one healthy sprout, so don't feel bad @bobm. I ended up just buying starts at the dispensary. We'll see how that goes... As for my real garden, I got a few more 100' rows cleared today, I got a row of cucumbers seeded, and irrigation tape run. That...

I'm still tripping out about finally catching up with Ben, after 22 years. I'm really excited to meet him and show off the truck. When I was shopping for it I was looking for an FJ40. Fj40s were and still are very expensive, and when this Fj55 popped up, it piqued my curiosity. I got online...

I use the term "Kid" liberally. Big dopey adults qualify. If it had been an actual kid, you know a young small human with an open mind, eager to learn things I'd have told him all about it. My swiney senses told me he wanted an audience forvwhich to recite the brand names and part numbers of...

I smell a you tube video cookin' How cool is that? My landcruiser infected BenjaminCA with the swine flu and got him started playing with landcruisers years ago. Now he has a huge you tube channel about landcruisers and apparently everyone but me knows who he is. I'm really excited for all of...

Interesting things have come to light. I was surfing (do people still call it that) the pig picture album and came across this image which caused me to pause and take a closer look. Upon further inspection I do believe I've found a photo of my FJ55 from before I owned it. The mirrors, they're...

Lots! I think my record was 21 gallons of pasta sauce one year. 2 years back I canned pickles. Probably 36 or 48 quart jars of homegrown pickles... Same goes for Jalepenos. Several cases of quart jars some with carrots and garlic some just jalapeños and salt. Btw. Sorry for the thread crap on...

Today I used the FJ 55 to take my starts out to my garden. I got 2 rows of tomatoes and a row of cucumbers planted from starts, then I pulled irrigation tape. I think the garden is looking really good about now. I'm hoping to have lots of good food to eat!

Remember the order of operations. First get a sense of what the carb is or isn't doing before going in guns blazing, get a sense of what's going on, that will help you determine what area specifically needs attention once you're in there. Check compression first. (Maybe adjust valves) then...

After my recent 4x4 adventure and a few trips down the highway I had enough data to calculate my fuel ahem economy.... It's not great. 10mpg was the figure I came up with. I know I don't quite have my carb dialed in since fixing the accelerator pump. It idles high, and when you're...

Thinking about the build. Next Steps for Zeke

I gave up on fixing old throttle cables when I had one stick. I avoided tragedy, but others may not be so lucky. Throttle cables should be available so no need to salvage old stuff. I think the one for my fj55 was about $30.
