Agree on Peter. He helped me with my ‘82 with giving it a tune up, addressing carb issues and installing OME shocks, new springs and lift. I need to go back to him for her no-so annual physical :)
I’m in the Alpharetta area, so let @GA Architect and me know if you ever want to meet up! Would...
@bhicks totally LOVE the center console cup holders. Didn’t realize you were on Mud - just found you on Etsy. It works great! Perfect for my Yeti and phone. I’ll be ordering the ash tray to give the center a cleaner look.
I’ve been on the fence to get the Sniper and think ‘24 will be the year — but will hold off for the 2 now. A test drive in @GA Architect’s rig has been sitting with me for awhile. She starts up fine with the choke and some pedal priming, but have hesitation while driving on the road and just...
Put in a new clutch master and slave…and had a little help. While a really nice feeling clutch in the ‘82 is fantastic, it doesn’t hold a candle to the joy and smile on my daughter’s face as she got her hands greasy and contributed to taking off and putting on the master and helping to bleed the...
@rex in bama - I had a friend help me with the install of the radio, though it was was pretty simple. The radio slid into the area that was already cut out for the old Pioneer tape cassette. Then mounted as you typically do with the brackets that the radio came with. Plus a few things he had...
Busy week…installed a new fuse block (original one of the clips broke, so every time I hit a bump a fuse would pop out - original owner had a tape deck radio installed and instead of wiring it correctly decided to clip the hot wire into the clip of the block 🤷🏻♂️). Thanks @ToyotaMatt for the...
I won't initiate a wave with a Jeep, but if they wave I'll wave back. I had a '98 wrangler for a few years so don't mind it. I also had a Defender 90 for a short period as well and regret it every now and then because it was the last year the 90s were in the US...and man, the price they go...
Depends on what you want...but I echo the others that the price seems too high for a Franken40. You're getting the shell of a 40, but not much else. If you want more of the classic, original look I'd keep looking. Look for something with not many mods done, 2.5" lift and 33/10.50s
Go back a page and look at my post from Jan of last year. The lighting is off a bit, but you can see the new wheels in sun. It’s an off-white, but not cream. I did my bezel at the same time. Now just want to do the top - but that would require me to redo the liner 😵💫
I looked at 1013 as well - I had compared the two against my original (cleaned up as much as I could) in sunlight and shade and decided to go with 9010 as a close match. End of the day it’s really personal opinion. The 1013 was a bit too creamy IMO.
Hey all - listen to this clip and let me know if the “skipping” sound is an issue. I’m sitting in neural and press on the gas and it starts to have a skipping sound. Cause for concern? My ‘82 is new to me and I don’t know “her sounds”. Thx all!
Note: originals 2F, 128k, desmogged
Got my passenger door lock fixed, reinstalled and new TEQ keys. Much appreciation to @ToyotaMatt for the help! If anyone needs new keys or locks, he’s your guy. Super helpful and goes the extra mile to take care of his customers.
