What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

I have them now but need to find time to remove running boards. Been raining of late. Patience. Next time will delay post until finished. They are only $50 and returnable on Amazon.

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

Splash guards installed on the front R passenger wheel well (bottom photo) and missing on the drivers side of this Prado. See my posts on 138 & 139. Front fenders look pretty close to the Lexus GX 470.

Take a close look at these same splash guards on a 120 series Prado.

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

added note: re: I saw that but for $50 and return option I wanted to try. The Amazon "doesn't fit GX470" msg. I got also. Likely refers to it with the running boards in place (some high end Prados have same running boards as Lexus GX). The rear ones are a complete fit now. And will be used as MN...

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

See photos attached, they are not sliders as I see on other GX which “hug” the body and protect against serious bouldering damage. So far the rear splash guards are identical to original and can be painted. Once my welder fashions retrofit brackets for the “rails”will see if front splash guards...

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

Will do so once the rails are modified to fit in place in a few weeks. I am using the existing brackets that support the current boards-are they bolted onto undercarriage or just less secure tap screws? Anybody posted what to do to reroute the electrical lighting? I do not want to delete it but...

What Did You Do With Your 120 Today?

Found an elegant solution using Prado fender splash guards after running board removal! No need to hack up the boards to get a tiny little trim piece when you can have complete splash guards styled to fit the GX470. About to install rails and these functional pieces will fill the "cosmetic...

    LX470 vs. GX470

Interesting back and forth GX vs LX-LC. Again, was not impressed with the LX 570. Considered a 2013 GX 460 till I drove one <90k mi. dealership restored was “soft, top heavy, sluggish response, underpowered “ IMHO. Gave up on any Lexus altogether till I read about the “GX 470 subculture” here...

Drove my new GX470 home yesterday and kept it 70 - 75 mpg. What's your average highway speeds?

Good point I stand corrected, but living next door to Iowa all “85” is corn fed-ethanol based. Anyway just try a few tankful of 93 octane and see if you notice a diff. In acceleration and mileage ( w/o a lead foot). I think of it as giving Lexi a treat now and then. We all personify our cars...

E85? Has excessive alcohol content see caution in owners manual. 91 is only safe bet and I do likewise. But truck does perform better including mpg (so long as lead foot use limited)
