I had the single shot pneumatic grease gun (for maintenance fills) and after about 400 squeezes of the trigger it broke - then it was time to put my thinking cap on and came up with the contraption you see in the picture.
Hey, it worked.
The continuous flow would be the ultimate fix though...
I purchased the air grease gun first, but the trigger broke on it.
I live 90 miles from a large city so resources are limited.
I had to improvise, adapt and overcome.
:)
I hate greasing the Birfs on our 450.
It's not hard to do, just time consuming and hand cramping pumping the grease gun.
Last time the birfs looked somewhat dry...
Soo, I came up with my own air assisted birf greasing tool.
It consists of an old 2" mountain bike inner tube, a tube of...
OOPS! :whoops:
What about when people say they can't "un-loosen" a tight nut/bolt either!
double negatives, what are you guys - English majors?! :D
BTW- fixed original post.
It has been 100* with heat index....
I got in my wifes LX450 for to go to lunch and noticed that she left a tube of superglue on the dash.
What have we learned from this?
1) Don't ever lay superglue on something that you care about.
2) Remember that as the superglue expands in the heat it...
When I reinstalled my cone washers, I used a bit of anti-sieze compound for added insurance that next time they 'might' come off easier. Maybe it's overkill but it seemed logical at the time.
you can get a replacement antenna with new plastic (it is ONE unit) from cruiserdan (site supporter & great parts guy) or if you're lucky maybe e-bay.
welcome! :flipoff2:
do a search for any tips on installing which may help.
Buy the FSM - if you don't need it now, you will later.
I found the information on MUD better than the FSM, (for the front axle rebuild) and other tricks & suggestions that the FSM doesn't contain.
Pay the $20 'support the site fee' it's the best investment you'll find as the paybacks, in...
I did my own and spent $300+ in parts from C-Dan and 15hrs of my time.
I think you would do okay IF they were doing a complete job!
You should get some kind of warranty with the work; especially from a dealership.
Good luck!
Our 97 LX passenger rear door had been acting up.
I mean that the door wouldn't operate, like it was locked all the time even though the indicator inside said it was unlocked. "unlocking" it manually or with the electric control panel switch didn't matter.
I would work, then not work, then...
Similar problems in our LX. is 198K miles high mileage? :)
How much disassembly does this take?
I have done the front axle rebuild, but dont want to do it again this soon!
A schematic would be helpful to locate this bushing too - FSM is at home, I am at the office....
