I just rebuilt my 4 speed tcase, and now it does not shift into 4lo. It shifts smooth into neutral and back into 4hi.
I tried putting the trans into neutral and rocking the truck back and fourth. No joy.
Part 2: If I have to pull it out and crack it open again, what am I looking for...
I bought a DIY hinge from IPOR and fabbed up an insert into the bumper. I am really lucky because my neighbor is a pipe fitter and has dozens of certifications along with a $3000 mig welder. I cut and fit all the pieces, tack weld it, and he burns it in, cost is a case of beer.
Works nice...
Bought a swing out tire carrier bumper from a local guy who makes them. He makes them for jeeps, and uses a really weak hinge. The carrier rattled like crazy and even broke once, so I had to take the tire off of it.
I picked up a set of indoor/outdoor speakers from kmart and bolted to the rollbar, worked for 6+ years. I run a softop all year.
I think they would sound better if fed by a better stereo unit, mine was $5 from the pick n pull.
It replaced a fancier $25 pick n pull unit that was stolen. The...
Looking at my SM465 with a 4 speed tcase, the fill plug on the SM465 is on the drivers side, however...
It is about 2" higher than the fill plug on the tcase.
Is there any issue with running the transmission a couple pints low if I drill and tap the PTO cover to be level with the transfer...
Replaced the transfer case input seal and still having the same problem after about a month.
Could I have a blocked breather? Could I just take it off and see if the problem comes back?
Thanks.
Just like the title says:

NIB, never opened, went Luke's Hysteer instead.
$60 plus the ride, I am in Colorado.
Thanks.
I edited the OP.
I have to correct the steering more after hitting bumps, than the old steering setup. The only difference (as far as I can tell) is this drag link angle. It was opposite before.
4" lift springs SUA with 1" lift shackles. 6 degree shims to correct caster angle.
Not...
I have the opposite angle from most drag links I have seen.
Is this right? Did I create some sort of weird bump-steer situation?
The truck is a little squirrley on the street, nothing major, just different from the old steering.
edit: Tracks fine, but I have to correct the steering more...
SM465 here, suits the V8 powerband and the Low gear is great off-road because the v8 doesn't produce as much torque as the I-6 @ low RPM's.
I rarely used the 2nd gear in the Toyota transmission, would go straight from 1st to 3rd, but that is how the SM465 is set up.
Not sure what other years, but the pitman arm off of a 94 F250 does not work for the GM taper.
Looked nice in the junkyard, 1" drop ~6 1/2 C to C, big shaft TRE, but not GM taper.
My Saginaw box is from a 94 YJ Wrangler and my pump is from a 1985 Camaro (came with the engine). I went to the pick n pull an pulled hoses and coolers from several vehicles.
Mix and match and take the rest back, got $4 back :hillbilly:
Seriously, 90% of pre-90 American models used the...
x2.
I made my own harness for my TPI conversion. I would have been nice to buy a $1K harness from painless or such, but I only have like 10 hrs in my home-made harness that came free with the engine.
Hasn't failed me yet... (knocks on wood)
