Yes, it is a double crimp. You crimp the cooper first and then the jacket.
On the stripped side initially you crimp on the numbers on top of the crimper but once you secure the cooper you go down to the lower side on the crimpers to crimp a second time for a tighten fit. If you see the numbers...
Yes, the one you recommended will be useful for almost every type of terminal. I'm more used to using those universal (Hozan P-707) because they are smaller for the crimp size and the jacket. But definitely it is better to have both types. Like you said all depends on the type of application...
The best brand for those crimper type is Rennsteig. It's also a German company.
The problem with those is that every type of terminal needs a specific head. And the universal ones are pretty wide. Those types of crimpers are mostly used on ring terminals for lower or big gauge wires.
I took these pictures from my cousin LJ73. Still have the lights on the bumper. This is the back of the tail light housing.
Here is on the other side of the white connector.
By taking a deeper look on the wire colors coming from the main harness. It comes:
Ground (white/black) that goes with...
Yes I used this one Hozan P-707 you can find it on Amazon. It's real good.
It really makes a good crimp. You could use it in several types of terminals, also if the wire terminal comes with a seal you can crimp the seal as well. If you notice the black connector that I used on previous...
On the main harness Turn signal is Green/yellow, stop light Green/white, regular lights Green/black, Ground white/Black. You have matched these colors with the tail lights harness. On the tail light harness is Green/ yellow, stop light Green/white, regular lights 2 Red/green wires (you only...
On the tail lights harness I have some Furukawa 6 pins connectors available that I used to replace the OEM connector, I did this because I didn't want to find the same connector as the 80 series main harness made for that harness, instead I replaced it with a new matching connector.
The...
This might be useful for someone, I recently changed the bumper tail lights to the regular tail lights. On the LJ the tail lights come on the bumper and the tails lights on the body are used for reverse and fog light only.
The reason I did this is because I changed the OEM bumper for an...
My friend @Underwood helped me to install all the new OME bushings. Also painted all arms while replacing the bushings.
While doing that work he recommended undercoating the fender wells and frame. It was a hard job, he sanded everything down and removed all dirt and grease from under...
This was custom made but the keep the measurements design for future projects. There is a lot of vehicles outside of the US that they make.
If you need a design like this, the best would be to drop the truck there so they can make it around it. They are in Miami.
The center pillar got painted by mistake, need to be wrapped in black. The color changes a little bit with light.
The hitch and splash guards look hideous painted. But I'm guessing it will be removed later on.
Those pictures were taken just coming out of the paint shop. These are all the...
The truck was fully painted in and out, painted front rear bumper, running boards and splash guards for now. All that will be removed in the future with armor. The wheel wells were also painted.
The engine bay was sprayed black to hide the red color. I should be getting more pictures soon.
We kept working on the engine and axles, and the suspension size he decided that he didn't want it to be too high so we decided to go with
Old Man Emu Suspension Light/Medium Load

2 - 60018 Front Nitrocharger Sport Shocks
1 - 2860 Rear Coil Springs
2 - 60020 Rear...
This 80 series project started at the end of last year, and we suddenly decided to change the original color for the new light green or gray Lunar Rock from Toyota. I'm helping my cousin with this project, he doesn't know anything about cruisers but I decided to document what we have done so far...
Probably you will have better luck rebuilding. There is a shop in Knoxville that you could use.
Vol Radiator Services
2902 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37921.
I used them before.
PTR09-35130 - Genuine Toyota TRD High-Performance Brake Kit - https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~trd~brake~kit~fj~ptr09-35130.html
This kit apparently is only for FJ Cruiser but I believe is only because of the wheels clearance. If you read the Toyota instructions you can tell that they...
Actually we met at the 70 series meet and greet in Windrock.
Your LJ73 looks pretty clean, if it doesn't have issue I will leave it alone. Most common issue with the 2LT is cracked head, this happens when overheat. It could be many things. You could have a bad turbo, vacuum pump or piping...
