Half the flares on my tan truck were shot…that was part of the reason for taking them off.
I saved a front one bc I can never get rid of good parts.
Keeping it as a spare for the shiny truck in case something happens.
If I ever decide to get rid of it I’ll let you know
Ironic I think that photo was taken at south point on Ocracoke. The whole outer banks used to be a great place back in the day. Now just like every where else it is getting overrun by over development.
It still has its moments in the off-season though.
If you’re ever out this way let me...
I looks for years to find the same truck that wasn’t rusting away. Finally found one a couple years ago and grabbed it.
I’m on the outer banks of NC. Not terribly far Smithfield. Crazy how built up its getting in the areas surrounding Raleigh and all of N.C. for that matter
Man ya learn something new every day. I thought 86 was the last year or 87 was a half year or something like that
The first 88 I bought I did the same thing from Calgary. I except I drove it back and took about a month road-trip
Was no beauty queen but it had all the options and it was cheap.
I believe I could find the production date with the Japanese vin on the fire wall but no need to post that here.
Been raining here for a week straight …muddy is an understatement
Hey Jimmy,
Man I thought I was a glutton for punishment but you may have me beat. I could not imagine doing thar swap. I think the number of rhd has surpassed the lhd in my stable.
I’m left-handed so it just comes naturally to me to shift with that hand.
Anywho… as far as I know the build...
Thanks it would be going to a good home. I’ve missed 2 over the past decade or so.
Maybe that could be it. I thought they switched to square headlights in 87 but I’m not 100% sure. I watch the auctions pretty regularly in Japan and I’ve only seen 86s with round headlights.
Definitely a unicorn with the suspension seats. Man I would've put money on 86. I've only seen one 87 61 with round headlights. Must have been a half or transition year with very few produced.
Either way its a great looking truck. If you ever decide to part with it let me know. I'll put both my...
The 86 in the pictures without the flares...probably not for sale? Been looking for that exact truck for quite some time. I have 2 88's but can't seem to find the unicorn.
Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.
Top two bolts on mine are beyond a socket or flank drive.
Bolt extractor or torch/grinder is only hope. Problem is its such a tight spot the extractor will fit but you can't get a racket on it.
I've run into the same thing on mine. I have bolt extractors but its such a tight spot I can get it to work. What did you end up using?
I don't feel like digging the torches out unless I have to...they are very buried in my shop.
