found it on the plywood underneath the hoisted engine, I will take a look at the fuel pump 'cause i did remove oil pan.....

no air pump for quite a few months now........but you never know, could have shaken loose from somewhere, could have gotten caught on the left side mount arm

So have tore down my engine to long block and found this random piece, a small piece of spring steel that came off of......no idea. The answer may present itself when I go put everything back on my new long block but I am not counting on that!
