Had a couple free hours this morning with not much to do so I installed the OE Fuel Pump and related parts this morning. Pump, clamps, hose, rubber cushion, clip and screen/ filter.
Toyota part on the right. Napa part on the left
Had to scratch my date off from about a year ago and put the...
Well, after my cat back exhaust install, I popped a P0161 DTC. I figured that during the rough removal of the exhaust bolts I had damaged the O2 (Bank 2, #2) sensor. I went ahead and ordered one from PartSouq along with a OE Fuel Pump. My Napa fuel pump has some hot start issues. It always...
all cleaned up and ready for the new gaskets
This exhaust tucks up very nicely.
The exit is tucked up real high and tight too.
Quality and fitment are spectacular.
It did take 3 months from Summit to come in.
Sound impressions - Great! Sounds stock at idle, a little rumble when slowly...
On Sunday, I decided to unwrap the Doug Thorley cat-back exhaust system. Amazing workmanship and the muffler is solid and heavy.
Only one nut and bolt backed out out 4 at the cats so I had to break out the angle grinder and cutting disc, then air chisel to get the others out.
The kit says to...
Day 2 (last Sat) - I went ahead and put the front torsion bars in and set them close. Drove around for a couple days to let everything settle and reset them. Looks good!
The bushings on the AHC
I took out the AHC ECU (no more dash light blinking).
I will start to pull the AHC...
Well, as y’all can see, not much progress.
I am bummed because I could not find the issue. I traced and checked continuity on wires; unplugged, cleaned and greased every related connection; and tested every component. Kept saying ECU but I could not verify. I did not want to start throwing parts...
My mistake, i thought y'all were talking about the connector under the LH rear door. I did not realize all the AHC wiring went backwards that far.
I was able to get Bi1 and Bi3 disconnected, cleaned, greased and put back together. There sure was a lot of dirt that poured out of that wiring...
Update:
Well, I messed up.
BillW sent me a Control Valve.
I decided to check the Control Valve BillW sent me by ohm'ing it out and I got the same readings as I did when I checked mine (3.4 ohms). Uh oh!
I went back to check mine and it was 3.4 ohms as well. I checked the book (page DI-262)...
Thanks. I started a new thread on this topic to get some others to respond.

I think the Control Module has gone out as it did not ohm out correctly. I am currently searching for a used one.
First off, thanks for all the responses.
@IndroCruise
I checked the LHS junction block and everything was dry and looked good. Thanks for the suggestion as I did forget.
Fuses were swapped earlier but I did do them again.
I thought I ohm’d out the control valve earlier but I only checked...
Let me start by saying I love my AHC. I love the ride, I love the tune-ability and I like the up and down. 1999 LX470 with a little over 400,000 miles.
It’s broke and can’t fix it.
Now the backstory - we had a huge rainstorm and I am guessing the sunroof drains couldn’t handle the water (they...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Walked out yesterday morning got in, fired her up, sitting in Normal, switched to high, switched back to Normal, balanced L and R front torsion bars. Pressures were a little high but not out of range.
Switch up and down then the AHC OFF light started blinking again. It stuck...
Been a while but haven't really done much. I have been just driving her around with the AHC "OFF" light flashing and stuck in Default Sport Mode. It is firmer but not as firm as my lifted 3rd gen 4Runner.
I did take it on another 990 mile round trip to go fishing in Venice, Louisiana like this...
Thanks for replying. Forgive the length of time that has passed as have limited time to work.
I may be wrong, but I feel the 155*F temp is normal as it has been near 100*F here in Houston, TX and most everything under the hood is the same temp or warmer with a temp gun. The car was sitting and...
Thanks. Sorry for the delay. It took me a while to get back out there.
Worked perfect for years. 1999 LX470
Huge rainstorm, No high water driving but water poured in from the sunroof drains (I assume haven't dug into it yet; sunroof doesn't work but bought all the replacement parts). Water came...
Thanks for the Kudos.
I have been thinking about doing the same with the YouTube vids. I have so many little things I have learned and I tinker every day.
It looks like you have aftermarket headlights or later year plastic lights. Our years were glass. Mine kept chipping and getting "BB"...
Back to diagnosing the AHC issue...
+B voltage is too low.
No pressure readings.
I have 5 DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) but could not read them.
I can here the Relay clicking.
To recap: Storm, Water poured in under dash. Next day - AHC "OFF" light flashing and stuck in "Sport" mode.
Every...
