Good observation, they could have used a rattle can to paint over rusty bits? Ugh, lazy!
If he’s lying about the paint, it’s probably bondoed up to the top.
3B swap in not bad.
However, I think it should affect the value a little bit- for it’s not a true BJ60. This whole 3B swap opens another can of worms - I’m doing one right now, so a few things come to mind.
First of all, interesting that they didn’t mention it was a swap… so this makes...
Has nobody noticed the FJ vents on the side??
This is NOT a Canadian truck, it’s clearly a 3B swapped rig.
Canadian diesels don’t have the carburetor fan vent; Canadian models have a G instead.
Something is odd- possibly it’s a pig with lipstick on it.
It’s also possible that if it’s imported to the US they would have just swapped the gauge cluster. It only takes 5 mins to do so after all.
It’s sort of hard.
Lots of vendors still have parts for them. But any auto parts store won’t Have parts.
I have been able to get every part for mine with a little bit of looking.
19k is fair if it’s low KM and in immaculate shape.
Please note- parts for the 3B will be hard to come by compared to the gasoline counterparts.
3Bs are slow, but they can run a long time and even feature sleeved cylinders & oil injectors on the bottom end.
I would rather a 3B than any...
I have a Miller 210 at home, it can even do aluminum.
I’m going to welding school and I’m probably going to buy a tig welder. But I have always found the Mig to be so good.
I agree with this.
The first LC I drove was a diesel.
It was love at first sight, sound, and feel.
I loved the way it sounded at idle, and how much it shook at stoplights.
When I bought my first LC, it was a gasser, which was fine, but it didn’t excite me.
Most people here haven’t...
I think anyone is crazy to not have a Toyota diesel in their LC. They are lots and lots of fun- and turn lots of heads in a market where diesel powered vehicles aren’t common.
Who cares if it’s slow or parts are hard to find.
I’m very very surprised it could out crawl 4wds.
But it’s good that you show off the jeeps. They need to be humbled. Jeep people really grind my gears.
Yea I will agree with you on the mini truck/4 runner, I have pounded mine pretty hard and it still drives great.
I will admit, the 62 is a LOT beefier than the pickups.
Solid axles look way cooler too when rolling down the road.
When I took my LC into the high school shop, nobody had never seen a solid axle on a passenger vehicle.
