Smart family! I have always said I did not buy my truck for fuel economy. I bought it for protection!! And for other cool stuff like transporting camping gear and mountain bikes to remote areas or taking all the kids and their cousins to play and many other very fun activities!
Doug,
That is very good information on the glass. In fact, I do remember that when I had my windshield replaced, I verified that they glued the window like you said. So, thanks to you, I did some life saving in advance several years ago!!
As for the extra gas, I have told the guys I work...
Thank you. One of the most amazing things to me is the drivers window shattered, and most of that glass ended up on me, yet I did not get cut. The ER doc did have to retrieve all the glass that ended up in my left ear! We are pretty sure the huge gash on my knee came from hitting the keys in...
I remember that story well. His brother Doug wrote a very in depth account of the accident and the shape of the vehicle.

Ahhhhh...someone is working graveyards tonight!
I, for one, am very grateful that your partner was willing to help pull your weight a little. I am sure he/she did not mind.
Thank you for all you do. Like I said in my story, I was very comforted when the first responders made their...
You give me much hope. I know I have some pretty serious hardware in my heel right now.
I am lucky to have a good job. I have six months with full pay, and then I go to 70%. Hopefully, I don't make it to 70%. That being said, this job is our lively hood. I probably would not be as...
They cut both doors off. I remember one of the guys commenting to do whatever to get me out because there was no way we were going to use it as a backup truck!
Mt kids are the same way. We bought my 80 a year before my son was born. He is eight, My girls are twelve and thirteen. Needless to say, this is the truck they all remember.
You will be happy with an 80. They are good, tough vehicles. And yes, you can put three across in car seats...
