As an 06 owner and having a truck that lives outside in Md, when I purchased the truck it had plastic lenses and they were pretty bad. I did a nice job restoring them but really fixated on glass, weighing the pros and cons. The glass can break from a stone and can be expensive. But, plastic...
Here you go. Go in with a plastic trim removal tool to be the safest. A butter knife works but is not the recommendation. The points are at the triangles. Once one pops, it’s easy. Follow the steps in order because the top overlaps the bottom. Good luck
If you look in the FSM it will show where the clips/ attachment points are. It not too hard once you know the locations. If you cant find them, I can take a pic in my FSM
If you have a welder, you just need a cat that fits. It will pass smog if you buy a regular cat, and not a “race” cat. I’m not in Cali but did this for a merc in Md where we have smog. I’m personally not sure if there is a greater part that is a direct swap. Any exhaust shop or small shop...
Are you referring to the tensioner pulley revision? If replacing the tensioner at the same time, it will come with the smaller pulley. If just trying to replace a loose or seized pulley, replace the bearing. It comes out and goes in very easily. There is no supply of a stock larger tensioner...
Glad you are ok. Another reassurance to the tank like qualities of our trucks. Hopefully they find and fully prosecute that scum.
May I ask how you broke your nose and hit your face? Were you wearing a seatbelt or was there lots of slack in it before lockup?
When I did my seal I was very careful, used yellow sealant and it still leaked. What I ultimately used was black permetex on the seam that is in the center back, and made a tee out a few inches to each side. It’s not the rubber, it’s the sunroof trim that is the issue. It’s not noticeable at...
Valve cover gaskets are super easy. I second cam seals since it’s in the front. Be very careful with that repair, or in choosing the shop. As vvt, it’s a bear.
Figure out the cause by spraying off everything with brake cleaner and monitor where the oil starts.
I personally bought one of the FF guns but in the end wound up using cans with the spray wand extensions and that worked extremely well. I use a combo of FF and Surface Sheild. The straws and wand extensions, being such a small diameter fit into all of the areas of the frame and doors without...
I purchased an eBay model for 200 bucks for a previous lc100. It does have fake wood. Compared to my 2006 lx, it had a wider grip and the feel is generally better. Four years later that wheel is still going strong. There were a few colors to choose from at that time. IMO its a cheap enough...
There was just another thread on here that you can maybe follow to get the height up. It involved diagnosing the pump and running it in short bursts in one direction to lift the truck, then disconnecting. If the pump runs, or squeals, try following that thread.
Are there any other indicators...
For a first time diy with full steaming and learning as I went (there was nothing here at the time). It took me about twenty hours for the first two rows. That’s taking the seats into the basement and figuring it all out and moving slow. I did as well or better than any pro. What’s your time...
Sorry I can not be of help as mine is a vvti engine. I also thought I heard new things but had been without the car for a month by then. I drive it very hard and no issues a year later.
Some dealers are not requiring a vin now. It’s about 650 per wheel. I purchased mine directly from a heritage 200 series owner when new. So there are the bronze og, black with same design as above, and black that has had their color changed to bronze and those have been available since near...
As it’s new to you, grease the ujoints and driveshaft. There are fittings to make it easy and it’s a regular maintenance. After that, other diagnosis will be easier.
These trucks also have some gear whine when freezing temps, until warm.-
Reading into this late and glad there was some resolution. There are some readers misinformed about some things though. Remember that all work has a warranty and depending on location, that warranty may be longer or non existent. Whenever a failure occurs first figure out if you are within...
