Spike and Outdoorsman, sorry about not explaining everything, this thread is about EVAP control system, not related to EGR. There are more than one VSV on the 100, the VSV I referred to is named the Purge VSV for the canister, it closes or opens the port of the charcoal canister's purge line...
My first CEL on my 06 LC at 130k. CEL came on more than year ago with P0456, I erased code, came on for same code 6 months later, then one month with both P0456 and P0441, then a week, then every day. As everyone does, I replaced the gas cap with OEM, CEL back same day.
In the service...
I have exactly the same problem as you are describing on a 2006 LC with 60k. Dealer tried to fix it but still there. They said everything is fine with rear axle. It even sometimes feel like if you get lightly bump on rear bumper when starting up.
I have to sell my 96 LX450, purchased a 2006 LC. The driver seat is totally destroyed, see pic, don't want to sell the truck this way. I am looking for a more decent beige leather seat cover. Anyone has one to offer me?
Thank you all
Thank you all for your help and opening my eyes on something i was in need for information, it is very appreciated.
I read a lot on the forum for engine mods and i think a 1HD-T with an add-on intercooler will suit my needs even if it will reduce engine life.
I will get in touch with local...
Japan 4x4, thank you for the clarification. Please confirm the HP and torque of 1992-1995 version. What about reliability of this diesel engine. I saw on a Canadian importer site that there might be problem with crankshaft. I don't think i will replace the engine of a 1992 i may purchase...
I am looking to import a HDJ81 diesel from Japan. I contacted http://www.japaneseusedcars.com and it look like I can get a low mileage (65 000 km) 1992 grade 4 for about 12000$ delivered to British Columbia. In Canada, we are allowed to import vehicles from Japan as long as they are at least 15...
RavenTai, thank you fro your input, i have that same P0401 issue on my truck and did all steps per FSM and found nothing wrong (I have access to the Toyota scan tool), i checked the EGR temp with scan tool during a road test and it was fine. Now the P0401 appeared again and it is intermittent...
I have ordered new bushings on friday and received this morning at 110$ Can each. The new bushing are 1.329 in ID before installation. The bushing probably shrink when inserted into the spindle because of the press fit. Dealer told me that it is his first sale of those bushings. I will...
I am rebuilding the front axle using the steps in the service manual and i am at the steering knuckle bushing. In manual, it says to inspect bushing for wear and replace if damaged. The question is: What is the discard diameter of this bushing. On passenger side, diameter is 1.380 in and on...
For the air compressor, I purchased a 6.98$ air compressor at Canadian Tire and it works just fine. I paid 16$ for the cylinder (9$ + 7$ S&H) and 17$ for the solenoid valve (10$ + 7$) plus compressor (7$) and hoses and fittings (10$). That is why i wrote that cost me about 50$. Everything...
I got the same problem on my truck and i developed a fix that is cheap and easy (50$ and 4 hours) and is proven by two years of use. See it https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=108306
If you need the files, i can send it to you, just give me your e-mail adress.
I think it would also work with vacuum, the cylinder is 32 mm diameter or 1.25 sq in. in surface and you need about 10 lb to engage the lock. This means you need about 15 in. Hg of vacuum to engage it. What i like with my system is that i know if there is a air leak in the system because the...
There is a cylinder for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Festo-Pneumatic-Short-Stroke-Cylinder-ADV-32-25-A_W0QQitemZ7562003867QQihZ017QQcategoryZ67010QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Answers to questions:
The cylinder is double acting and is 32 mm diameter and 25 mm stroke. The system needs a 19 mm stroke. I installed a spring the cylinder to limit the stroke to 19 mm but if you keep 25 mm should not be a problem. The springs also make the system fail safe off in sense...
