No tbi stuff. I'd love to have that but for this thing, I can't justify the need. I forget that the general store has an auto parts house....:whoops:
Shopping on the internet is easier I guess.
Carb. isolator? Check. I'd not have thought of that.
And I love Summit. I'll just call and tell them what I want, and see what options they have for me. I'll also verify the block while I'm on the phone.
Thanks guys!
I have a 1996-ish pre-vortec GM 350 that I am putting into the Piggy. I'll need an intake for the quadratoilet (spread bore) carb I'm going to use. What is a decent one? And should I really look into a matched cam/intake setup? The heads are off right now and I will have the set gasket...
Pinhead, that is perfect! Thank you!
I'm replacing the chattering Toyota PS pump in my FJ62. I've flushed it and been running synthetic and it still begins to chatter and howl and it feels spotty/jerky.
I see a lot of FJ60 owners have done this mod, but I haven't found a FJ62 yet so I...
Are all Saginaw power steering pumps the same? Will one from a Volvo 240 provide as much boost as one from a GM or heep?
Is there a part number cast into the pump that I should look for?
Maybe, but once it dies, putting a new ignitor on "solves" the problem while putting on an old one doesn't. We'll check to make sure though, maybe something there. Thanks for the idea.
This is a General Ignitor question:
My uncle has a 1983 Toyota pickup that is really very stock, but it has recently gone through 4 Toyota ignitors. It runs great for about 500 miles then craps out. He carries a spare now.
What sort of things could be causing this? Is there something wrong...
I have a set of coarse spline diffs that I want to rebuild/regear (Coarse spline diffs are from a '73 FJ55). If I use a fine spline pinion, can I swap them into our FJ62, saving me some down time?
I would like to build them over time as money allows, but I don't want to loose the use of the...
Where can a guy find some 4" tubing and fittings for an air only intake tube? Should I try and use some ABS piping and fittings? Will ABS stand the heat under hood? What about steel or silicone fittings and tube?
Ideas please....
It isn't absolutely required to do a centered diff. I have the same shiz in my Pig (though it isn't running just yet). I am using the engine cradle from a K20 that I narrowed to fit the frame, and for the t-case the original K20 x-member fit the frame really well, but will still require light...
Noah, the stock pan will clear fine, even with no lift. Just take the time to put it in right, don't hurry. The engine I am using has a 5 quart stock pan and it will clear fine. Mount the engine just a little bit more to the drivers side, but not too close, the exhaust manifolds will be...
I don't know what year your engine is, but Autozone has repair guides online.

I don't know for sure, but I think that they are the same physical size. The 5.3 is a really good engine, even stock. Keep the internals and modify the engine mapping.
I am currently putting in a 96 350 in my Pig. The oil pan will be close, but a non-issue if you take time to really fit it...
