I can’t really say exactly, the shop that did the work is ran by a fellow Cruiserhead and a friend of mine so I didn’t really feel the need for an exact breakdown in my bill. I would say that a good approximate guess would have been around 10 hours for everything.
Oh and something that I meant to mention and forgot in my update. Both mechanics that looked at it after this happened was initially certain it was a bad injector as neither one could hear it pinging when they could hear the others. But after the injector was swapped the miss was still there. We...
Picked up the 200 this Saturday and am pleased to report that it’s running well again. Here’s what I can tell you for me and my instance and my eventual road I went down for the repair. My initial plan was to have all the springs replaced and do all the “while you’re in the preventative...
I never had any noticeable top end racket or power issues under load but I haven’t towed anything in several months. Did make a few mountain trips and never noticed any power issues though. I can’t recall exactly what the CEL code was initially when I had the CEL and check VSC system that...
That’s exactly what @Bryanseye said when I talked to him earlier. Must mention he’s been a big help with great insight on this problem.
I’m going to go ahead and put my flame suit on for this next statement- I may be wrong but I could see this problem being similar to the head gasket issue in...
Bumping this thread as the same thing just happened to my 200. 2010 with 200,000 miles. #5 exhaust valve broke. Truck was running fine cruising at highway speed when all of a sudden the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and had a bad miss. Similar backstory as well, a few months ago got the...
Decided to bump my old thread, partly as a continual PSA for new folks and partly because I realized I never really updated my eventual outcome.
After several months of back and forth with WIX I decided to just chalk it up to an expensive lesson learned and fix it all on my dime. In the end I...
@Kayaker Walt’s is a great place, have used them several times over the years. One of the few places still around this area that will actually fix a radiator rather than sell you a cheap one. Glad you got the help you needed!
I would be surprised that oven cleaner didn’t work also. You by chance didn’t use the less harsh oven cleaner without lye did you? Usually comes in a blue can. The yellow cans wether it’s Easy Off or an off brand are the ones that contain lye. When we did the head gasket on my white 80 I dropped...
It’s been a long time since I owned my 40 but I ran 33x9.50’s with no lift. Never rubbed at all even wheeling so you might not need a lift. Of course if you just want it lifted that’s understandable.
