We will meet on Sunday, February 5th, at 3:00 PM. As usual, we will meet at club member Rich Petrulio's open space property in Modjeska Canyon, where we can park our rigs, and set out our camp chairs in a big circle. The property address is 17336 Croatian Street, Silverado, 92676. To get there...
Keep an eye on this Clubhouse thread, and on our club website at: socallandcruisers.com. Our next club meeting is Sunday, February 5th, and our next club run is to Anza-Borrego in February. Hope you can join us!
Hi Pat,
I attended last year, and really enjoyed it! I've put it in my calendar for this year. I got grey shirts last year for for both myself & my wife. Great artwork! I'd like a Men's grey XL, and a Women's grey XS.
Unfortunately, this clubhouse doesn't get a lot of traffic these days, so...
Yeah, the latest weather forecast is not looking good. But, as Jim Carrey said in Dumb & Dumber, “Wait, so you mean there’s still a chance!” I’m heading out in a few minutes. We’ll see who else shows up…
Latest forecast (8:56 PM on Thursday evening) on the Weather Channel app shows "Cloudy skies. High 58F. Winds SW at 15-25 MPH. 24% chance of rain." for the day; "Cloudy & windy with rain early...then becoming partly cloudy. Low 43F. Winds WSW at 20-30 MPH. Chance of rain 80%." for the night. I...
There's a Costco Gas Station in Victorville, about 45 miles away; and, Eddie World (huge gas station/store/rest stop) is right off the I-15 at Calico Road.
Glad you guys can make it (weather permitting, of course)! We've done both Doran & Odessa in the past, when more of the rigs were built a little more hard-core. I had the only 80 Series at the time on those trails. Got quite a bit of attention... It's not likely we'll try those trails on this...
I completely understand your apprehension. However, I’d encourage you to attend this run. One of the big advantages of a club run is that you will be surrounded by experienced drivers, some of whom may have had years of experience in a truck just like yours. Don’t worry, we’ll get you through...
The trailhead out of Hesperia is here: Bowen Ranch Road trailhead to 3N14 - Coxey Road. Corner of Roundup Way & Bowen Ranch Road, per Google Maps. Let's plan to depart from there at 9:00 AM. I just don't want to run out of daylight, and combine snow-wheeling with night-wheeling. Yikes!!!
There...
I just re-checked my facts - Big Bear has gotten 15" of snow since January 1, and the resorts are open. I also just talked to Marc, who suggested coming up the back way through Hesperia. We could take 3N14 - Coxey Road out of Hesperia, and head towards Fawnskin. Depending on conditions & timing...
I think this Saturday might be a good day for a local snow run in Big Bear. They've gotten only a few inches so far this year (not enough to open the ski lifts), but it's actually snowing there now as I write this. It might be a good way to check out snow-wheeling without the risk of super deep...

Oooh, playin' with the big boys, huh? When I ran it last (2012) I had about 1 ½' more lift, but I was also on stock gearing. Maybe it's a wash? Worth considering... I do wonder, though, how much the trail has changed in 10 years...
