Electrical connectors for OEM FJ60 radio

Hi, I’ve finally tracked down an OEM radio for my ‘84 FJ60. Unfortunately, the PO redid the wiring to install a modern stereo, so I’m missing the electrical connectors to fit the original radio. Anyone know where I could find these? TIA!

Tool for coolant block drain on FJ60?

Success! Got a vice grip around it, heated it with a torch, and managed to slip a crowbar between the header pipes which I smacked with a hammer to crack it loose. @ToyotaMatt I picked up that drain plug you suggested and it seems good! I’ll let you know the next time I do a drain…

Tool for coolant block drain on FJ60?

Any advice on a tool to crack the block drain bolt to flush the coolant on a 2F? This seems like a pretty good option. A couple years ago, I did a halfway job with a coolant refresh because I couldn't get that little square 13mm drain bolt loose with a puny box wrench. I picked up a six-point...

    Sagging wipers - FJ60

Hi, I’ve got an ‘84 FJ60. The wipers always end up sagging below the trim on the windshield (see photo). I’ve tried repositioning them on the splines but that doesn’t change things. My first guess is that it’s time to replace the wiper motor but wanted to see what everyone thought before I spent...

    Sticky hand-crank windows - 1984 FJ60

Got in there and did my best to clean and grease the regulator and lubed things up. Definitely an improvement!

    Sticky hand-crank windows - 1984 FJ60

Interesting. I’m not having any trouble with skipping, just a ton of resistance at the crank. Maybe I can take the regulator out to assess its condition? Or just clean and regrease it?

    Sticky hand-crank windows - 1984 FJ60

Hi all. My hand-crank windows on my ‘84 FJ60 are pretty hard to operate, especially the driver’s window. It’s a great workout, but I’m actually going for tone, not bulk, right now. So I’d like to fix it. My hunch is the window felts should be replaced (see photo). Should I keep an eye out for...

Idle speed for 2F w/ Weber

Cool, thanks. Mine is a 32/36 but I’m guessing the fundamentals are similar? I have gradually leaned out the idle jets (I’m at 7000 feet), but it seems to hit a point where idle speed refuses to go much higher than 600 unless I keep turning the speed screw in. Based on my reading and general...

Idle speed for 2F w/ Weber

Hi folks. I’ve been gradually getting my desmogged FJ60’s Weber carb jetted after living with a vacuum leak for too long. Here’s the question, briefly: What is the preferred idle speed for a 2F engine? There seem to be a range of answers out there. I’m not sure if the general Weber tuning spec...

FJ60 clatter under low RPM load

Thanks. Mine is desmogged with a Weber and I just replaced the base gasket (and rebuilt the carb, so I kinda doubt that the intake is bad now. That said I’m still new to all this…

FJ60 clatter under low RPM load

Might be a long shot to do this on the Internet, but curious if anyone has insight on what could cause this clattering noise my 2F engine makes. It happens at lower RPM, under load (climbing a steep hill). Happens in all gears. Thanks!

    Power steering pump options

Ended up with OEM and the dummy idler pulley from TLC. Pretty straightforward install. Good project to do with Dad while he was visiting! Thanks for the help everyone.

    Power steering pump options

Thanks guys. Who knew power steering pumps could be controversial! This is a bit off track, but since @DFXR mentioned a smog pump I got to wondering. Sure enough, it’s still there. But unless I’m wrong, it’s not connected to anything other than that belt! Wondering if now is the time to put in...
