Thanks for all the great comments and feedback!!
Ended up with a set from Johnny! Thanks man.
Did a test in my backyard and seemed to work great (only a foot and a half of snow).
Haven’t even added the rear chains yet- but I am feeling really confident I’ll be able to get into some pretty...
Great comments @elkun1 and @Eyedaho - considering I want to wheel with these and drive in extreme conditions - a nice set of heavy chains sounds about right.
oh thanks @elkun1 ! Main use case is the FJ62, since that’s what I take out. I’ve taken a look at the Laclede’s recommended - but I’ll...
Already have my snow tires on, but looking to beef up my snow driving game, so I can go deeper into a snow and icy abyss.
Does anyone have a preferred brand or model of snow chains that are good for wheeling and fit on good sized tires?
Thanks for any suggestions !
Way back, when Covid barely had a name... I bought a set of Falken Wildpeaks for my 99' LC.
Sizing was a little different from you @REZARF since I used the stock wheels, but the overall size was LT 305 70R16. I had an OME 2.5" lift as well, so I think similarly setup (including an ARB front...
@90WT when you say ready to roll at 9. Does that include being aired down? Or does that happen later? Dumb question from me.
On the fence if I can make it, but if I can I am thinking of bringing the trailer out for a Friday night camp out. Likely returning Saturday or maybe even Sunday...
Made it to Solid Axle Summit with a bunch of old Cruisers over the last week.
Highlights included Imogene Pass, Engineer Pass, and Flaming Gorge (in WY).
Really enjoyed driving down through Wyoming and Utah (vs the "fast" route of passing through SLC).
Day 1: Bozeman, Montana to Granite Creek, Wyoming - awesome spot with natural hot spring
Day 2: Green River aka Flaming Gorge, Wyoming - camping on the beach
Day 3: Ouray!!! ( kind of feel like saying Hurray! )
@CruiserTrash If I can crash in your spot Sunday night that would be rad! I am sure this will all work itself out, depending on the new "owners" and whether we can share spots or not. New owners of the KOA, if you read this, we love you and thank you for hosting all of us.
Thank you for the...
A little prep for the trip.
Replaced my air filter with a brand new OEM FJ80 air filter, cleaned the Mass Air Flow sensor and the Throttle body. Removed the roof top tent (2000 miles of not hauling it around for a week).
Testing out my fridge situation right now.
Getting pumped to have fun...
Looking for some National Forest camping ideas from team SAS.
I’ve done some googling x onX mapping for my route between Bozeman Montana and Ouray. I didn’t reserve my site at the KOA for Sunday night, so trying to coordinate my drive down between here and there.
