I bought the grille in the classifieds here (had to look for a while). You also have to swap for LC lights or the grille doesn't fit. I don't remember how much I paid. I ended up selling the Lexus grille & lights so it offset the cost.
SOLD
EDIT - The Cruiser is sold -Thanks
I am selling my locked expedition equipped 1997 Lexus LX450. It runs perfectly and looks great. As you can see in the pic's I have “re-badged” it with Land Cruiser emblems and grille. I am located in central Michigan. I am an engineer and LC...
In the past year the seller has 788 positive feedbacks and 1 negative.
If I had ordered the lights I would give them time and then file a Paypal chargeback just before the 45-day maximum period.
The crappy Lexus CD changer ended up being the problem. I unplugged it and the load dropped back down. I should have looked into it a long time ago. I had hoped to rip it all out and replace with a LC console but haven't been able to find one.
On the LX450 the cig. lighter is on a separate fuse from the radio. There is a 20A "radio" fuse. On the earlier 80's the radio was on the cig. lighter fuse I think.
I'm going to bite the bullet and get a factory EWD manual for the '97 LX450.
I did my axle job just before the Marlin seals became popular here. I have been irritated that I used the "inferior" OEM seal once I saw the Marlins.
Now I'm relieved that I used OEM.
:)
My guess is your motor if neither switch works. I had an intermittent problem and it ended up being my motor. I was able to replace the motor with a cheap ($50 or so) motor from Autozone.
There will be an old thread of mine (plus many more) if you search.
I doubt that we will see it sell for $22k. The current price means nothing as it is "reserve not met" and people play games with them all the time.
It looks like a decent vehicle with some cool mod's but it's still a case of a dealer with unrealistic expectations. Put it out for a high price...
Does anyone have a fuse chart for a '97 LX450? The chart in the post above looks very helpful but it is different than the LX.
I'm looking to figure out what runs on the 20A "Radio" fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
I started to troubleshoot a parasitic draw on the battery. Measuring at the battery the truck was pulling about 420mA with everything off. After pulling fuses and re-measuring it dropped to 68mA when I pulled the radio fuse.
I have a '97 LX450 with the stock radio, subwoofer & CD changer...
