Ended up going up behind Skutz Falls on Mayo Main and Skutz Main. There’s a goat trail up there that leads to the top of the mtn where they’ve decommissioned the road. We fortunately passed by 20+ UTV’s at a perfect spot that worked out nicely as most of the trail is pretty tight.
I’ve narrowed it down to one boy who really enjoys the off-road stuff. He’s 12. The other boys hockey game is over around 10:30 so I could probably get to Bunrz’ Place by 11:30am. Does that work?
As for food, we can pack snacks and sandwiches for ourselves if that makes sense.
I don’t have...
ISO: Axle for a trailer build.
Hoping for 6-bolt so I can eventually run same tire size as my truck (255/85/16).
However, I’d be happy with torsion axle(s) too.
I think the trailer I’m getting has a smaller axle (small boat trailer) and will be limited to the size of tire I can put on it...
@GTSSportCoupe...tbh, my speedo rarely reads 105kmh because at 105 a beeper starts going off. I kidnof like it because it likely means I’m actually going like 115kmh which I shouldn’t be able to do (in my mind anyways). But I do feel I’m consistently going close to 100kmh on my speedo (probably...
Scale shows 2760KG's at Duncan scale...All gear, fuel tank full, and my fat @ss ;-)
Also, yes, lockup is occurring exactly as you described it, but depends on terrain and skinny peddle as to when it does the shift.
I think I actually speed all the time because (1) my speedo...
Responses within quotes in CAPS.
I’M RUNNING BIGGER HEAVIER TIRES (255/85/16 Toy MT’s) which changed the gearing around 10% I believe. So that means my speedo is out about the same too. I also have all my recovery gear, tools, liquids, etc in my rearcargo area.
John suggested I run it out of...
GTSS...don’t have actual fuel economy numbers. Get around 400km per tank which seems lame. Lots of highway driving too.
Locking up the tranny is on the wish list for sure. I’ll admit that I’ve gotten quite smitten with the automatic though...just so easy and if I’m out in the bush with my...
Injectors got a rebuild and service!
New nozzles. Was really fortunate he had a new set he’d forgotten about in his tool box!
Serviced and pressures set correctly.
I can feel a sight power increase. I’m hoping for better fuel economy if nothing else.
I just pulled my injectors and will be sending them to Kelowna for new nozzles and tuning so I'm out for a couple weeks. February will be my next available time...but yeah, we should probably keep things official and actually meet and talk shop again sometime.
We drove both vehicles (BJ74 and Honda Pilot) to Parksville today for a Christmas gathering because I’m leaving from there with the Pilot to Edmonton.
We had Two-way radios for the trip and I had my wife drive the Cruiser so she could ask any questions along the way as she hasn’t driven it yet...
This is so rad! Thanks guys...and Seapotato, my testicles are of no use anymore as it stands so the decision was that much easier ;-)
I’ll make sure to post all the pics of me passing LandCruiser’s along the way
Well, after taking it over with the wife I think I’m gonna drive the Pilot instead of the Cruiser.
1. Already has the correct oil for cold conditions.
2. Has a block heater.
3. Can do the speed limit easily.
4. Because of #3 it will be cheaper on fuel. Average 12L/100km...
I use Chevron Delo 400 LE 15w40 year round (because it’s currently free) which apparently may not be a full synthetic.
Question: Would putting a full synthetic like Rotella 5w40 be a bad thing for the ‘ol 13BT for this trip?
