    Cowl Vents, LX vs LC?

Does anyone need my old cowls, free to a mudder who can put them to use? They're perfectly functional, but show their age with the gray-black deterioration. T.

    Cowl Vents, LX vs LC?

I just pulled off my original right side cowl and the part is marked 55781-60130, so it looks like sunny Southern California lexus got the cold area spec from the start. I'm original owner on this 2006 LX, and it came from Japan to the Long Beach port before being sold in San Diego. I went to...

Front wheel bearings coming loose every 1000 miles

I'm at 120K for this vehicle so I opted to replace instead of just repack. It's about $80 in parts for koyo on both wheels, and I should be good until 250K+ miles.

Front wheel bearings coming loose every 1000 miles

The Toyota Factor Service Manual shows the front bearings themselves as non-reusable parts, but the service schedule shows bearing repacks at 30K service intervals. Can anyone explain this discrepancy? Thanks, T.

    LX 470 Night View Repair?

While I'm fixing the mounting brackets on my projector assembly, I'd love to replace the bezel and shutter as they've faded to a very different color from the rest of the still like-new dash. The Lexus parts shows as unavailable, but the Toyota parts can still be found. Does anyone know if...

    LX 470 Night View Repair?

One more here... My 2006 LX has had ALL of the projector cowling brackets break so I'm going in to see what I can MacGyver. I'd imagine that many of the functional problems are because these things are all going out. Based on access info above, thanks very much, I'm going in with some JB...

    Cowl Vents, LX vs LC?

I've got a 2006 LX and I wanted to replace the cowl vents, but the Lexus part appears to be unavailable. Does anyone know if there are differences between the LX part and the LC part? LC parts are still available, listed here...

Rear bumper step pad / scuff protector

I want to replace the rear bumper step pad on my 2006, but I can't find a separate part number and the full bumper cover is expensive and not primed or painted. Does anyone know if there's a part number for this, indicated in red in the image? It looks like all other Toyota/Lexus SUVs have...

    Right side mirror replacement

I've been doing floppy mirror fixes for decades. This failure was something different, the post and mechanism that mounts to the door and allows the pivot. It doesn't look recoverable.

    Right side mirror replacement

I'm hoping that "some kind of green" is what I'm after, and that they actually exist... trigger pulled.

    Right side mirror replacement

The folding mechanism on my driver's side mirror has failed and needs replacement. I'm hoping to stay OEM. It seems like they may all be gone, but some sites are showing the part in stock. Does anyone know parts well enough to say if this will fit my 94 Dark Emerald Pearl LC? Part...

do i really need to burp the coolant system?

My 94's overheating problem is fixed. Here's a summary for the next guy: I had a cracked radiator, so I replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc. After refilling I would overheat right after the truck warmed Heater was hot Top hose was hot Bottom hose was cool Engine got hot...

    Orange Dot Mod

I created the original post on this over 14 years ago. It's clearly the most helpful thing I've ever contributed. Land Cruisers are amazing. T.

do i really need to burp the coolant system?

I had the same thought and just checked my hoses. Heater is getting hot and staying hot. I believe that's confirmation that the water pump is creating pressure. Top hose and top of radiator is getting hot. Bottom hose isn't getting hot. I've burped quite a few times now and I'm no longer...

do i really need to burp the coolant system?

One last note, I did this job because my original radiator had a crack, but I never had issues with overheating before I did this work..

do i really need to burp the coolant system?

Jiggle valve is at 12. I just burped and I'm still overheating. I'm shutting down before I get to red. I'm having a panic moment. I removed two covers for the new radiator ATF connections, but didn't see anything to remove for the coolant. Any chance there are plugs in the OEM radiator...

do i really need to burp the coolant system?

I just replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat, and all rubber in my 94 cooling system, and now I'm overheating after about 15 minutes of driving. I'm hoping, in order: 1) Air in the system, working this now 2) Bad thermostat not opening 3) What else? I've got lots of heat coming...

    Weak brakes

I think I'll start with the calipers, as your 50% argument is indisputable, they are indeed the original calipers, the symptoms span OEM pads and "upgrade" pads, and the brake boost test indicates the booster "should" be working.

    Weak brakes

I've done the brake booster test, and the pedal does fall slightly when the engine is started. That's supposed to indicate a successful test, but I agree it's a likely root cause. Any other suggestions for proving it out? T.

    Weak brakes

I've had slowly deteriorating brake performance for quite a while. I'm hoping for some guidance before I start replacing parts. The vehicle is a 94 LC with a 2" lift and 33" tires. The points that matter, I believe: 1) The brakes are not spongy. They're firm. 2) You have to use a lot of...
