Ive done a few ignition cycles so far no issue I will say the metal was a different material the original Toyota felt softer in comparison to the Bross I went ahead and ordered an extra one and am going to purchase a new OEM assembly this was the right now fix that wasnt $180 but that is coming...
This happened on Saturday part came via Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A14YCF8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 yesterday fixed in about 30 minutes hardest part was fishing out the broken end.
When I worked at Carmax we used to send out stuff to carquest to get pressed all of the time because we only had one press in the shop and it was s***ty something to look at it if you don't feel like cutting and pulling.
Best pic yet I get tired of hearing about people needing it for fording. The only reason I installed one was to keep my air filter cleaner and to bring in cooler air temps. If you are buying a snorkel because you think you need it to ford water you don't.
I would keep it and do preventative maintenance on the rust and most of the regular maintenance mentioned can be done by yourself not too hard to do and it sounds like you are handy already based on your description of repairing the bad rust. I would be all over a free Landcruiser any model.
I am probably going to go with a smittybuilt 10k winch unless I can find a decent used warn I run a 9k TJM tiger winch on my 80 because I got a screaming deal on it. Before that I had a warn M8000 that crapped on me
