Builds mcgaskins' 2016 build thread - Ruby

Believe me when I say it's not what everyone immediately assumes when they hear Sprinter camper! This one is well loved, has ~220k on it and the front end was slightly redecorated by a hooved animal at some point (and I'm leaving it as is). It's a huge counterpoint from Ruby no question which is...

Builds mcgaskins' 2016 build thread - Ruby

Here are my thoughts on the travel trailer thing - and no offense to anyone who has one, it's just not for me even though I think some are pretty cool. 99% of the wheeling and camping I do is by myself, so an expensive 7,000 pound, 8 passenger, gas guzzling, overbuilt, over-engineered, body on...

    For Sale 2016 built blue,

If you saw where the intake was on a 200, you wouldn’t want a 200 without a snorkel! Also an OEM fender is less than $300 from Toyota!

Sadly the LX is gone as well - I sold that one to make room for an electric car as a daily. It's funny to go from a couple of gas hog 200s to an electric car and a diesel (which btw has a range of about 550mph cruising at 80mph). Sprinters are super cool but generally too expensive IMO. I lucked...

Builds mcgaskins' 2016 build thread - Ruby

All good things come to an end right? I've enjoyed this truck tremendously, but it was time for us to move on to something else that is more conducive for family camping. I bought a cool older Sprinter that was setup to literally live out of full time, and while we don't intend to do that...

I figured I’d add a couple more recent pics of the bumper. Most likely will be the last pics of Ruby in my ownership as well sadly!

    Rhino 4x4 Front Bumper

FWIW it took us months to get the bumpers. Many emails, phone calls, waiting, etc. I think we started the process in December and the bumpers got here in March. Then we had to get them bead blasted to get the powder coat off, and then we had to find a good paint shop to spray the bumpers. It was...

    200 series picture thread

I took a couple coworker buddies wheeling today on Red Cone, and my friend Greg was able to join with his LX on 37s. Great weather and scenery including some mountain goats and moose.

    Rhino 4x4 Front Bumper

I personally like the hoop because without it virtually no one would have any clue it was aftermarket. Good news is the hoop is only held on by 2 bolts and can be removed in minutes, so changing it back and forth is easy. Thanks! I have been very pleased with it and think it would be a perfect...

200 series Front Bumpers - VPR

My buddy and I brought in 2 bumpers, and he heavily customized his to fit onto his 11 LX. I would not recommend it unless you are an experienced metal worker however, as he had to modify the bumper, weld, cut, hammer, etc. to get it to flow nicely with the lines of the LX.

    Post your wheeling damage pics

I find it interesting and a bit odd that it would be more "desirable" for humans to build a car than precision robots in today's day and age. The value proposition it seems in these incredibly expensive bespoke cars lies within the amount of skilled and precise manual labor that goes into them...
