20r Water choke to manual choke

Probably. I really like manual Chokes though. Figured someone had had a water choke off and could tell me what it looked like under there and whether I could hook up a manual choke cable. I’m not real keen on spending aftermarket money on the 20r as I’d like to go to a 22RE or a 3rz in the...

20r Water choke to manual choke

Fine. I’ll just replace all the hoses and deal with the water choke as long as it’s working. I thought surely someone here would enable me. Guess I was wrong.

20r Water choke to manual choke

Has anyone ditched the water choke and converted the existing linkage to a manual choke? I’m guessing most people just switch to a Weber, but I’m an Aisin man. My goal is to ditch all the hoses running hither and yon to a simple pull choke like the 2F motors had.

2004 double cab softopper too short.

Here it is with the rails slid forward to where I think they should sit. The rails are about 6” to short. Was there a vehicle out there with a 4.5’ bed...? Maybe this is for a Subaru Baja? At this point I’d just like to figure out what it might fit so I can sell it.

2004 double cab softopper too short.

I was told this topper came off a double cab Tacoma, but it certainly seems too short. I’ve only had a softopper on my 4runner - never on a pickup, but this doesn’t look right. If I move the rails in either direction there’s no way the top will even attempt to cover one end of the bed...

    Patty - A 1980 “Long” bed.

What goes in this empty hole? Anyone put an oil pressure gauge in there? Something else useful?

    Official For Sale/Trade/WTB/Free Thread

I listed my 80 for sale. I’m not set on the price, but I’m also not desperate to sell it. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1994-fzj80-built-maintained-loved-wheeled-dented.1256577/#post-13923640

SOLD 1994 fzj80. Built, maintained, loved, wheeled, dented.

Well it might not sell. The market for ugly 80s is weird. I’m not dying to get rid of it so I imagine it might be a slow mover. Heck, maybe I’ll end up keeping it and you’ll have your chance, yet!

SOLD 1994 fzj80. Built, maintained, loved, wheeled, dented.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m headed out of town for work, but I’ll post undercarriage when I get back. It’s fluid filmed, but I’ve never painted anything. What you see is what you get. Only leak is a slight weep from the front oil pump/timing cover area. It’s Been that way for 6 years...

SOLD  1994 fzj80. Built, maintained, loved, wheeled, dented.

Asking price is $7500 and I’m not going lower. The time has come to sell my 80. I’ve had it for almost 7 years and about 30,000 miles. I still drive it a few times a week, but I don't commute for work and I have three other built Toyotas. Unfortunately the 80 is the least fun of them to...

Finally a Tacoma owner - 2004 Supercharged DCab

Well, I made some changes. Pulled off the supercharger and sold it. I know, I know, but the truck works much better for me this way. I can count on one hand how many times the SC was useful to me and putting premium in a vehicle just isn't for me. I pulled the body lift off. The steering...

    What are you working on?

I already have a 4.7 case sitting on my shop floor So I’m going to do that for now. I have a 4runner I’ve been going back-and-forth on building and if I do it will get duals. If I don’t build the 4runner then I’ll put duals in Patty but for right now I’m going to run the 4.7 case. Thanks for...

    What are you working on?

I just reworked the leaf packs on the back of Patty. It was so friggin’ stiff before. These are old marlin leaves. I also replaced the brake lines and bypassed the broken/seized LSPV. Next on the list is a W56 swap with a 4.7 case and while I’m in there replace the clutch, throwout, and rear...

    Patty - A 1980 “Long” bed.

Feels fine to me. I haven’t had it in the rocks, but it was wheeled for many years on 33x12.50s with this push/pull setup. It has a pretty substantial drop relay rod on it.

    Patty - A 1980 “Long” bed.

Replaced motor mounts and added some sound deadening and a vinyl floor mat and this thing is quiet*** now. I drive it to the dump and was almost civilized. Stupid slow, but not too sketchy. Hauled some wood around I just reworked the rear packs and dropped it about 1.75” in back. Hopefully I...
