Heat Stroke in Billings MT - Please Help!

Difficulty of a repair is always a challenge to relay because of the obvious variables. Everyone has gifts and talents, and it's clear not everyone has the gift of operating a wrench. That said, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get that evaporator assembly out... and in a...

Where Has Your 80 Taken You?: 80 Series Camping/Overland/Adventure Thread

Ya know I spent most of my time addressing the ac issue and hanging out at my relative’s ranch near Billings. Never got off the tarmac. So I’m not much help. But it’s a good question that I’d like to know the answer to myself. Maybe someone’ll pipe in here. Or I know there are MT groups… Maybe...

2F Crank Repairable?... and Other Questions

I dropped the crank, block, head, and cam off at the machine shop. Same guys who did the machine work last rebuild, and they were also pleased by how everything was looking. After consulting with the machinist I'm feeling good about having the crank repaired ($150). After conversation with...

2F Crank Repairable?... and Other Questions

Sheared the key. Pulley is wallowed out and is garbage. Timing gear is grooved badly. Any opinions on the crank? Besides the obvious gouge it’s lost material around the entire diameter where the pulley sat & spun.
