I have had the Kaon shelf and the Trekboxx alpha for a while now. When I first put in the Kaon shelf the fridge I had in the Trekboxx was two wide to have the center divider installed so I did not put in the Trekboxx shelf above the fridge. The Kaon was a great solution for added storage space...
I took Kebler yesterday. It was about 3 hours for me, from the time I started Kebler Rd to the time I got into Ouray and about 41/2 hours from Colorado Springs to Crested Butte. I was not pulling a trailer however.
We made Ouray today. We started in Colorado Springs and went by Kebler Rd out of Crested Butte. It took us about 71/2 hours by this route with a stop for lunch on Kebler Rd. It was a nice scenic drive.
Spent the night in Colorado Springs. had a nice dinner and some beer at Pikes Peak Brewing Co. Heading over to Ouray shortly. We are going to take the route thru Crested Butte and Kebler Pass. Not sure how much time this will add to the drive but hopefully will have some nice views and scenery.
We are on our way. We made a stop in Hannibal, MO. The wife wanted to see the boyhood home of Mark Twain. Spent the night in Topeka and will be leaving shortly for Colorado Springs. Will head to Ouray from there on Monday morning. Think we will do the route that goes over Kebler Pass.
The Factor 55 fairlead that I used is 1"x12.35"x3.25". The 1.5" fairlead was too thick for this bumper. Here is a picture that might show how my hook fits. I have my license plate on a fold-up bracket also.
Here is what I did with mine. I have the Factor 55 fairlead and hook on mine. I had to use the thiner of the two fairleads. The rubber bumpers on the hook sit against the bumper and bottom of the fairlead. I have been happy with it so far.
