Hi all,
Posting my successful process of clearing my P0430 code on my 2003 LC.
awhile back I would get the CE, VSC lights that would stay on for a bit then go away. About 6months ago they came on and stayed on. When I got my oil changed I had my mechanic diagnose it and it was in fact the...
I will do this. Just reinstalled Techstream on my new laptop, will get as much data as I can for you.
This would be great, please let me know.
I think I read somewhere that Magnaflow is about to release a CA compliant CAT for the 100 Series, but I don't see it on their site.
Can anyone...
I'll repeat myself!
Having just a P0430, returning over many miles of engine run time. Is not likely a S.A.I. issue. With S.A.I. filter failure. We see P0420 & P0430 DTC, along with S.A.I. DTCs. All these DTC (codes) don't usually appear all at once. They may start as perhaps a P0430 DTC...
You can try swapping o2, one side to other. See if makes any difference.
But all I've seen P0420 or P0430 or both, swapping o2 or A/F sensors, had no effect. CAT was bad!
We must always determine cause of CAT failure, befor replacing it. Or risk damaging another CAT.
Since you've had P0430...
...these codes getting misdiagnosed as cat issues when in reality it was something else. P0420 means there’s an issue with the driver side exhaust. I had P0430 (passenger side) and found that there was a leak at the rear o2 sensor. The leak could be coming from a variety of places in your situation.
Can't complain when these Serra prices are better than Impex, Partsouq etc.
Just placed an order for a pair of rear O2 sensors for $86/ea, to solve a P0430. Also tempted to pull the trigger on a pair of new cats, at "only" $869/ea!
I'm getting a catalyst insufficiency code in my 100 (P0430/ P0420), I think the cats are gummed up. Has anyone used an ultra sonic cleaner to clean them out? It sounds like an easy way to clean a gummed up CAT but I've never cleaned a catalytic converter this way! I don't want to damage the...
Started baselining my new 2007 LX. The dealer replaced the left Cat the day I bought it for a P0430 code. Yesterday it popped a P0420…Dealer says they’ll replace that cat as well, but I’m not convinced the cat is actually bad, and I know they are going to be aftermarket. I cleaned the MAF and...
My 06 with around 225k recently had the P0430 code “Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)”. Bank 2 is the right side so I replaced the downstream O2 sensor. That was a couple thousand miles ago and the code has not returned.
If it had returned or if it does return I will consider...
...the group, I own a 2005 4th gen 4runner limited with the 2uzfe. I’ve owned the car going in 6 years with no issues other than an intermittent P0430 which usually went away so I ignored it. 5 months ago I replaced all the spark plugs with oem from the dealer in an attempt to improve my mpg...
There's a Lexus dealer that has an online store that has really good prices and I think free shipping.
Now with all that great preamble, no, I don't recall the name of the shop, but I believe it's in Arizona and I'm sure someone on this forum will fill in the blank.
Anyone want to chime in??
...it to two more shops today. The first one said they would try and figure out what is causing the P1605 code first because that may clear the P0430 code. The second shop said more times than not the converter is bad and the P0430 code is actually causing the P1605 code. He said he would check...
...and quoted $2,800. Didn't really even talk much about the P1605 code. From the research I've done the P1605 code could be the issue causing the P0430 code and the cat might not even need to be replaced. I'm not having any performance issues at all. Does any one have input or dealt with the...
Took it to a couple more trail runs and off-road parks to push it a little more, managed to kill a downstream O2 sensor so i have p0430 on 🤦♂️

Added a blue dogs designworks filler piece for the ugly little gap after removing the running...
