    Builds Project Pork Roll - 1970 FJ40

I've just been driving it when I can but nothing really new done to it lately. Mechanically it is pretty much complete for what I wanted to get done with the exception of an OME suspension but I have to hold off on purchasing that for now. 💰 Addressing the body rust is the real challenge now...

Picked up a HFS bumper with a Warn 8274 winch from @stoshzack this past weekend. Really nice guy and I couldn't be happier with the bumper/winch. After trying to figure out how to transport it up to NJ from NC I decided to just rent a car and drive it back since I happened to be in his area...

Any shops in DC/MD/VA for 2F engine rebuild?

Pioneer is where I just picked up my 2F in November. So far I'm really happy with it. I didn't have a 2F core and paid about 2800. Rick Ervin is who I dealt with there and him and his guys were awesome. He said that if I had a good core a rebuild would be about 1800.

Should gas come out from here?

After my carb rebuild I was told this was normal by @FJ40Jim . "That is the primary throttle shaft. There is no seal or bushing there. Fuel is sprayed down on top of it when driving. After the engine is shut off, the last dribble of fuel that didn't get sucked in the engine will tend to...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Replaced my original metal fan with a plastic one. After seeing the damage it could do, and knowing my luck, I know it was the right move. Also put on some oem hubcaps. Seem too new and shiny for me but I’ll give it some time.

The last thing that I did was buy a keychain from @cruisergear I was hoping to have a chance to win the beautiful 40 they were giving away so that I could stop updating this thread. The cement paint job would have matched my Tacoma. No luck.

Ended up biting the bullet and purchasing an upper dash pad. Took a chance and ordered it from a seller on eBay from Dubai (dxbwolf). It was more than a $100 bucks cheaper then any other source that I could find. It arrived in about a week!. Also threw on some oem hubcaps. Not sure how I...

    Ignition switch position label/sticker?

Thanks for the insight Mark and Matt. I was always curious since the PO carved the word “OFF” on my dash.

    Ignition switch position label/sticker?

Question for the seasoned vets here... I have a 1970 fj40 with the ignition key switch on the dash. Did it come from Toyota with some type of ignition switch position label as shown in the pic below (not mine, just one I found online)? If so, is anybody making them or are they still...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Bought a new oem dash pad and installed it. Took a chance and purchased one on eBay from a seller out of Dubai. This was $100+ cheaper than any other option that I had (I don’t have a Toyota parts guy hookup!). I received it in less than a week! Seller name is dxbwolf and seems to post them...

I see that you're from Idaho. What a beautiful state. Back in the early 2000s a close friend a mine became friendly with a grassfed beef supplier that was located in May Idaho. He would order beef directly from him and they would BS over the phone. This was way before grass-fed beef was...

Just wanted to update some of the smaller stuff that I've been keeping busy with. Refurbed a steering wheel to replace the one on my truck which was in very rough shape. Also tried my best to clean up the horn button. While it was apart I sanded down and painted the column and replaced the...
