OME Shocks for 07 FJ Crawler

Just ducked under my 07 to get the stamped model number of the OME shocks. No Go! So much rock rash on all four they are unreadable. Does anybody know the model numbers for front and back for the 3" OME lift? Thanks Ken

Maximum Carb and Air Filter Suggestions '83 FJ60

I'm researching the ultimate carb/air filter kit for a '83 FJ60 stationed in Tchad, Africa. There it is used as an Ambulance, Hospital supply truck, and general physician transporter into the community. It currently has an aftermarket carb and "performance" air cleaner. No bueno. This is NOT...

    What color gray on steelies?

Here's my post from earlier this year: After a long search, and I mean long, for a legitimate Toyota color code for stock rims (steelies) I can attest there is no existing factory evidence for it. However, in the immortal words of Sean Connery, "never say never". However, in the vacuum of...

    Best method for painting parts?

If you're going to the trouble, use the nuke method. take apart all items and bead or soda blast all at the same time. you'll save money and time in the long run. If you use hydro blasting they can add a sulfuric acid mix to prolong the bare metal from rusting. I have fenders in my garage still...

FJ40 PTO propeller shafts and aftermarket exhaust systems

Does anybody know if there are any aftermarket exhaust systems that allow the PTO shaft to remain in the rig? For the cost of a bombed out original manifold I could be looking at a Spectre or equivalent, but none that I've found leave room for the shaft. Ideas? Ken

Stock Rim Color Code and other grey paint without factory code

I If im not mistake though, your color code is a powder coating. The quest was for a modern paint code that matched the elusive T1447 found in the Toyota documention. My mistake if that color code comes in air dry paint!

Stock Rim Color Code and other grey paint without factory code

There are bound to be shade variations but the quest was to find a modern pro paint code that fit the bill.

Stock Rim Color Code and other grey paint without factory code

I also found this to be true. However, this was not the quest. The quest was to have a modern paint code by which you could go to your local professional auto paint store and order a national brand enamel, LPU or epoxy and get the correct color. Most parts companies have what they call Toyota...

Stock Rim Color Code and other grey paint without factory code

I appreciate the T1447 number and I found it quickly in factory reference material too. No pro paint distributor could connect Toyota T1447 Grey into a current/modern translation of any professional paint chip. This was also my experience when I called CCOT, Man-a-Fre, about five more restorers...

    11/1974 fj40

Do you still have the rear tire carrier catch? The hook part that bolts into the apron? I'm also interested in a rear heater and running board outriggers. Also the original exhaust manifold if it isn't rotten. You can PM me or I may call. Thanks Ken

Stock Rim Color Code for the love of all things good!

JohnnyC Thats the most articulate detail I've seen yet. I have a call in to Specter's rehab department and If I don't get a chip code out of that, then your idea sounds firm. I also may just lighten up to the slightly metallic verson that CCOT's reman Bumperettes come in. Ken

Stock Rim Color Code for the love of all things good!

Thanks, but that code does not work at my local paint store that carries PPG Ditzler Nason DuPont and other pro car paints. Do you know where that code originates from? Is it a Toyota code? Is it some aftermarket rattle can code? This is the problem with all the searches. Nothing matches...
