What did you do on your 70 series today?

Some of your pictures leave me utterly missing the Great Plains... both of these do that for some reason.

Builds 1991 FJ75 moving to America

@Coolerman delivered in spades folks! His kit, as shown in his pic, was the perfect plug-in-play solution for my two-wire harness. I told him the existing harness wire sizes, a 10-gauge and 14-gauge, and he built a fusible link to suit. For his kit you'll need a proper, ratcheting crimping...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

You’re making me feel stupid for pre-grinding when I camp. So, what size inverter do you use? Gonna have to check out this value bodum without a timer...

Builds 75 Series Truck - VZ shade tree special

Whoa! You were able to order all the parts as one boxed kit? For my Troopy I had to research every freakin' part and fastener to piece it all together... though I suppose there's some "assembly" part number that could have made it easier. Good luck... 70-series OEM bumpers are a parts smorgasbord.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Those door cards look VERY nice. For securing things to the floor of the Troopy I used four holes in the floor (a few were pre-existing from the Swiss cheese work of previous owners) to bolt in a piece of plywood. Everything is built off that platform and/or otherwise secured to it. You can see...

    Builds Found an Arabian FJ40

Had a buddy shoot some photos... this one seemed worth sharing. In other news, my crankshaft nut came off. Not sure why, or how. No issues with the truck other than my AC clutch giving out on me. So now I have to dive into the front end of the truck. Work on the schedule: Replace AC clutch...

Builds 1985 JDM 3B Engine Rebuild and Other Stories

I call phooey on this! I copied this some time back into a special quotes file I keep. It resonated with me in many ways... I hope there's still a little bit of this left in you. ;-) "This isn't a f***ing hobby. This is the lens through which I see my entire world. Driving and living Land...

Builds 1985 JDM 3B Engine Rebuild and Other Stories

That does look smart! A bit of me is sad to see the sombrero replacing the "TOYOTA" though... Did you have to trim/cut the grill to accommodate the intercooler?

    BJ74 AC Issues- advice?

You really need a gauge set to be able to diagnose things. Is the pressure low, reflective of a leak? Low pressure can allow the system to still work but cool poorly. Also, a blown compressor can still cycle but not generate the pressure needed to cool. Oily residue on the nose of the...

Fantastic stuff man... very cool seeing this get blown apart and then come back together again. Looking forward to a thread documenting the exploits of your road trip.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Is this another Middle East snag? If so, it's gotta be the cleanest, most unmolested Troopy I've seen from the region. Dang...

Builds 1991 FJ75 moving to America

The Troopy has become the family camping truck of choice. We took a 4-day, 3-night trip to southeast Arizona for remote camping in the Coronado National Forest (near Chiricahua National Monument). Some friends had found a nice spot near a babbling spring-fed creek and already knew of some good...

    Element Fire Extinguisher

Gotcha... understandable. I've got a conventional extinguisher for now, but want to upgrade to two of these.
