Builds 1996 Land Cruiser Build - "Kronk"

Long time with no update. Haven't been doing much work on Kronk - but have been driving quite a bit. He is running like a champ. Was 97 here yesterday and I took him for a long drive in the hills to see how the RD cooling system performed - the temp gauge didn't budge. It is working well. I...

    Strange occasional sound

I don't smell gas in association with this sound. Previously, I did have a fuel smell - ever since I bought the vehicle, there was a gas smell problem, and it persisted even after the rebuild. There was also a swooshing sound upon opening the fuel tank. I replaced the charcoal canister and...

    Powersteering bleed

Yeah, I forgot to put down - I never have the vehicle running when I do the bleed. Froths things up too much.

    Strange occasional sound

So, I just recently finished my 1FZ rebuild on my 1996 Land Cruiser. The engine seems to be running great, but I have been getting an occasional sound that I can't pinpoint. This description will be terrible, so I apologize in advance. But just hoping that maybe someone might have some...

Next on my list was examination/upgrading of the brake system. I noticed my lspv was seeping. I briefly thought about replacing it with an aftermarket unit, but decided to just get a new OEM unit. Also, the PO never put in longer brake lines with the lift. So, I decided to spring for a full...

Yes. The bottom clamp was interfering with a wire bundle coming off of the relay block. So I just took it off, and slid the canister up higher so the upper clamp would be more centered. Then I just put in a longer bolt for the upper clamp.

    LSPV delete pictures

I've searched quite and found quite a few threads about the LSPV removal, but not many pictures of what I am looking for. Has anyone deleted the LSPV and replaced it with an adjustable proportioning valve in the stock location? I have seen a couple that put it under the hood near the MC, but I...

Was having fuel smell and tank pressure even before the rebuild. I checked the charcoal canister and it was clogged. So, I replaced it today with a VC120 from autozone.

After some troubleshooting, I found the transmission problem, highlighted here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/possible-transmission-problem-edit-solved.1198875/ I have taken Kronk out a handful of times now. Today I took him for his longest break-in drive yet up to the Valles Caldera. It...

Be careful - sometimes you find things "while you are in there". Then you end up with a new short block from Toyota. :)

Possible transmission problem - EDIT, **SOLVED**

Problem solved!! Was a pain to get to, but I pulled off the repair. Shifts and responds like it used to! Thanks for the help everyone! I went and got a new pick tool and was able to eject the culprit pin: And then soldered on a new wire: And then re-installed in the truck and soldered...

Possible transmission problem - EDIT, **SOLVED**

Ok, I can get it to snap down into the "lock" position - but am I right in assuming that this white piece doesn't come out? You just leave it in the lock position? Then try to release the little tab shown in your second picture?
