Since day one the brakes have been a problem. It has been about 100 miles and 5 years since the last guy messed with them. He did it wrong, the pedal pulsed. Now I have uneven braking too. I have done the brakes several times over the years. I see brake parts a now quite pricy. I am about fed up.

Are the disk brake conversions worth doing from a reliability stand point?

1970 is a transition year on brakes
what month was it made ?
or
does it have a dual brake system with booster?

older single circuit brakes takes more doing to do disc conversion

Mine (11/69) has an adapter that changes it from the earlier 3 bolt pattern to the rectangular 4 bolt pattern so I can run a later model dual circuit master with a proportioning valve. If you have the vertical rib that goes between the brake and clutch masters this is probably the path of least resistance.
