The second major project for 2023 is about to cycle out of the shop so it’s time to start the build thread on the JTU Sixty project.

5 years ago I helped pair @JTU up with a local that had a nice Mississippi FJ60 for sale. It had some sun rash but it was a 100% rust free truck with a H55 in it and the price was right.

JTU started a thread way back when on it and kept up with it for the most part documenting a real nice paint job, some expo drawers and quite a few sweet modifications.

Back in October I picked up his FJ40 and brought it to my house and finished a 4 speed swap we had started about 3 years ago.

After I dropped it off he decided to let me take his 60 and stuff it full of fresh new modifications he had planned for it with not the time to spare to do them

About a month ago, all the radars and stars aligned and HQ messaged me that they had a Cop motor ready for the JTUSixty after an undetermined amount of time …..

I deployed to rescue the dead 60

The trip to HQ for the Cop Motor was a quickie. We were headed back from a mission to Ozark Overland Outfitters with a gooseneck full of Arkansas stone and they drove the forklift onto Summer Avenue and deposited the goods and screwed it into the deck and we peeled out.

Since then I have filled up an entire bay of my shop with parts, new and powdercoated old to put back into this thing when the time was right

I try to focus and finish one project at a time but there is always down time waiting for parts or in this case, while the Wizard was building the exhaust for Rosie the 40,
I was in the old shop making the engine bay clean and pretty for the new Mosley Motor

It was pretty nasty in there. I cleared out things I won’t need and cleaned right to left

Turned out nice. Took me about 8 hours to get it the way I wanted it

That looks great!

I started in on building out the long block yesterday. I’ll be able to finish that today and then finish up work I need to do
With that nice clean engine bay before I stuff it full of goodness

you say "COP" motor but I see a 3F. What does COP stand for?

COP doesn’t so much stand for anything as much as it represents a way of life

A life of abundance. There’s always a half-pack of smokes and a full tank of gas. Chicago is never more than 106 miles away.

It’s about being on a Mission from God instead of being held down by the man.

A life where you’re on the same footing as the law, and if they want to catch you, they better be able to bleepin’ drive

Right now we are cussing this Trail gear pitman arm reamer to get the FJ60 tie rod end into this bad ass 105 Redhead steering box

Calling it a successful day.

The 105 Box is in and the drag link is in the newly reamed hole.

Engine is all together and sitting in the truck.

Looks good up in there.
