Seatbelts arrived from Seatbelt Planet and of course I have no roll bar to attach them to. It should be ready in a week or so. They look great. They didn’t reattach one of the toyota labels as it appears a bit tattered. I’ll have to work removing it and having my seamstress reattach. I am otherwise pleased. Used the Mothers back to black to re condition the plastic.

Nicely done 🏆.

Received an email that the cruiser corp jump seat covers and foam are in however I am traveling with the family and will not get my hands on the Iron Yak for another week and a half or so. First stop was Annapolis. We had the pleasure of attending graduation today for the class of 2023 Midshipman. It was fun to listen to the Secretary of the Navy (USNA) and the Secretary of Defense (West Point) rib one another.

3 days in Annapolis and I didn’t see one Landcruiser that wasn’t a 200. Dissapointing.
Drove to Richmond, Va today. And within an hour I spotted a RHD diesel Hilux Surf. Pretty cool.
Could not get a photo. Sorry.

Still waiting on my roll bar and jump seat frames to come back from powder.
I cleaned up the seat belt buckles with CLR and put a coat of Penetrol on. Came out OK
And I bartered a restored front heater box for my heater box and rear heater. That went in today.

Roll bar and center console bracket-gloss black.
Metal front seat backs and jumps seats-pewter. I know this isn’t OEM but it’s what I thought would look best.
I have a TROA soft top in beige/khaki ordered.
Couple of before photos here. The front seat backs were never reinstalled when PO recovered front seats.

Very nice. I have a pair of short jump seats and a roll bar I am restoring for my '78. Plan to have them powder coated but wasn't sure what was factory, gloss black or semi-gloss black.

I’m not sure either. My roll bar, although rusty and dirty, was pretty shiny.

Picked up from powder today. I am very pleased. Roll bar and seat belts back in. Center console mount in. Will have to tackle re upholstering the seats another day. Very overcast today so the lighting isn’t that good.

-Anyone have photos of the following.
1. Back view of front seat with metal seat backs attached ?
2. Back view of the front seat with out the covers in place?
-Anyone know if the screws used to upholster the jump seats are the same ones used to attach the metal seat backs?

I dug through some old posts from when I was working on my seats a few years back. Maybe they will help. recovering jump seat - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/recovering-jump-seat.896363/

I just realized you were asking about the metal seat backs for the front seats. I’ve got some hardware from when I bought my seat backs that the guy took off and sent with them. They are up in attic storage I can try and check tomorrow. It’s been five years since I’ve opened the box but I want to say they were bolts that held the metal seat backs on. Or maybe pointed tip bolts.

Your seat backs look good and straight. The powder coating came out nice.

This was a tv show I just remembered watching in the early 2000s and I found again a few years back with the guy putting clips on YouTube from his old tv show.
If you watch some of these videos he redoes the front and rear seats.

Edit to add: after I skimmed through the videos he doesn’t put the metal seat back in place. He adds some kind of pouch. But maybe something that will help with other seats.

These were the screws on my 77 before I reupholstered the fronts:

Seat backs are in. I have one screw giving me a problem so I had to take a break. Typical gulf coast day. I was sweating so bad I had to change shirts twice in about 45 minutes. I am going to wait until the Mrs is out of town in about 10 days to tackle upholstering the jump seats so I can do it in the AC.
