Hi guys,

I don't remember coming across this in the past. This is a 1974 FJ40 and I believe it is the F bottom end of the engine and a later head. There are 2 holes that the machine shop put an insert into but I am at a loss as far as what these are and what their purpose is? I am wondering if I should plug them before proceeding to install the exhaust / intake. Thank you. N

posted up on facebook, consensus is they are dowel location pins that someone either drilled or came factory, I don't know, they were there before the eng was sent to the machine shop, machine shop put inserts in there to give them threads, I am just going to plug them
