45LV Door hinge pins (1 Viewer)

I finally pulled apart a door hinge on my 45LV and the pin diameter measures 8.5mm x (93mm long). I did buy some early 40/45 series pins/bushings but they are 8mm in diameter. Are 8.5mm pins available? I looked at an earlier build threads (@c2dfj45) but it appears he drilled the hinges out to a larger diameter and then inserted bronze bushings.

Would also be curious to know, I was looking to do the same on our 65, both for the doors and the hood.

I did this research a bit ago as the FJ28 has the same size pins as the 45LV and could not find any pins 8.5mm x 93mm anywhere. If you end up having any made let me know I do need some eventually!

I think someone made pins years ago for the 45LV, but cant find the thread about it.

I’m in the same boat and here’s the closest I’ve been able to come up with so far:

Dorman #38400
Pin diameter: 8.57mm
Pin length: 105mm (4.125”)
Bushing OD: 10.9mm

Both half’s of the hinge would need some light drilling and the pin would need to be trimmed by about 1/2”. Also, the head of the pin is much flatter than the Toyota pins.

Anybody find anything better yet?

Seemed to me that the windscreen hinge pins were about the same size and probably get a heck of a lot less wear?
Anyone know if you can just switch them out?
