Not sure on what transmission I am going to run, but I wanted options. I cut out the old torque tube and I installed a new one farther back.
I had the light mount bar I cut off my Slee bumper for the LX470. It was like a prefect match for the torque tube. Should have plenty of room now.

Thanks man.

Got the frame stripped down and getting it ready for paint. The plan is to get the frame and bottom side of the tub and bed painted. Then reassemble by Sunday. Then I can do final body work and paint the top side of the body parts. Let's see if I can pull it off.

Flipped the frame and did the last welds. Then wire wheeled it. Pretty much it's ready for paint. It's not perfect, but it doesn't need to be.
It's amazing how much more crud was removed.
The next step is to get up early for good painting temperatures and shade. Then get the bottom of the cab and bed sprayed. While that dries, I will paint the frame.

You're inspirational. That should outlast you. And maybe your kids.

Jack you make the rest of us look like a bunch of slackers! Good work sir, carry on!

Cab is bolt down loosely with all the hardware. Bed is bolted down loosely with some missing hardware. Everything lined up so far. I figure I can shim stuff once mostly completed. I will bring it to a friend's shop and use his alignment rack as a good level base. Then make the body lines as perfect as possible.

It's blue. Need to respray the interior of the bed. I could not reach and was getting dry spray. I also got tired if sanding, so you can see some imperfections in the paint. Good enough for a truck that is destined for the trail.
Also, the coverage over the Lizard skin was not going too good. I actually like the darker finish for the floor though. So I left it.
Happy hour starts now.
