looks like an aftermarket FM antenna, do you have an aftermarket radio
Definitely aftermarket. Follow the cable and see where it goes. By now it is likely a dead-end.

No, it's the stock unit. Original power antenna is gone. I think it could have been destroyed when a bear tried to get into this 80 a few years back.

Looks like a windshield AM/FM antenna. It's possible the original motorized antenna broke and this was their solution.

Seems funny but may not be that far fetched. When deployed with the mil/gov the IT people twice collected up all the laptops and thumb drives because certain components were found sending data back to Chyna, really. Those computer items ended up in the US Govt GSA parts ordering system and were distributed to units around the world. Same reason made in Chyna security cameras are banned for purchase by the govt.
Back to the regularly scheduled program.
