Here's something that some might find useful.

When I would drive back roads at night sometimes I would try to use the spot lights to find deer (illegal i think) but I had trouble reaching down and hitting the toggle switch to turn them off when I saw lights appear from oncoming traffic. I didn't want to wire the relay to the high beams switch as some times i need the highs adn not the spot lights, and I usually run the covers on the lights (required by law in most states).

Here is the circuit I ended up using:

So this utilizes a 3- position toggle switch to toggle between spot lights off, spot lights on with the high beams, and spot lights on all the time. The light is wired to be illuminated whenever the spot lights are active.

Also installed are dual Audi Horns (with relays of course):

High and low frequency:

Audi horns are just loud for some reason.

And some measurements to see if it will fit in my girlfriends garage:

I got a new radiator cap from the dealer just because:

Quality seems much better than the champion crap I had before.

I found a pin-hole leak in my PS reservoir from welding on it prior:

I ran a 1/4 push lock hose from the rear locker solenoid to the cap to pressurize the system and finally found it.
It was a very slow weep.

Finally got to use my stubbiest setup on the TIG torch to get in there and weld it from the inside:

We just went on a mild 4-Wheeling/Camping trip this past weekend in Anza Borrego:

Both my friend in the FJ62 and I retuned our best fuel economy to date on the trip. 13.7 for him, 31.5 for me. Good times.

Thanks for the compliment!

We should link up or go wheeling together soon!

I also live in Newport. Have we seen each other driving around?

Mike, are you coming out to Cruise Moab?

I don't think so.

They thing sold out pretty much instantly. It looks to be pretty expensive too?

Would have been fun though!

I assume you're going?

Mike

Yea, it went quick. I'm going for work, but I'm leading / gunning every day.

Mike, how has the rig been running? Are you going to SAS this year?

Trucks been great!

I've been out of the country for about a year and had it in storage until about 2 months ago.

Fired right up so that was nice.

Took it on a few trips including KOHa few times and one down to Anza borrego for a super bloom camping trip. Somehow towing the trailer I got 28mpg. Pretty surprised even though I was putting along 55-60 in 4th gear.

As for sas I won't be attending this year unfortunately.

Here's some more recent pictures since it has been a while.

Twisted my driveshaft at KOH on the 3rd day:

That was annoying. Fixed it pretty quick at least.

Cleaned KOH off it:

Thanks for the updates! Can you share more details on the HVAC (unless I missed it somewhere in your posts)?
I basically made an inline evaporator between the blower and the heater box. I haven't had a chance to really cover what I did yet but the concept is simple.

It works great because you have an actual defrost, and outside air/recirculate options. And having the blower in the engine compartment keeps the passenger footwell open. All that and you get to keep all the original aesthetics with the heater box etc.. Its like it was meant to be!

I will have to do a proper post about it.
