Hello. I've done the project thing and I just don't have time for it. I know I'll pay more for a completed truck, but I'm ready to do that. What I really want is no to little rust, complete truck that I could drive while improving this and that a little at a time. I know, everyone wants this scenario. Not looking for original other than an uncut body. Every time I see and original truck I think it would be a shame to drop a diesel engine in that.

Budget is up to 35k.

I think this is pretty close to ideal but I can't afford it and I don't think it's really for sale anymore: For Sale - British Columbia: 1981 BJ42 Beautiful Resto-Mod - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/british-columbia-1981-bj42-beautiful-resto-mod.1160309/

here's one of mine
$17k, put 17k into it will be worth more

I have a complete hard top for it with nice doors, I suggest putting a 4 speed in it and selling the 3 on the tree gear

I have others

Hey Neighbor, I'm next door in Iowa. Take a look at this Green 76 with PS, A/C and AFI fuel injection. The previous owner took it down to the frame last year.

You will find it here: 1976 FJ40 | Land Cruiser Nation | FJ40 FJ60 FJ62 Sales | North America - https://www.lcnation.com/1976-green-fj40-ps-ac

Hi Oakweb, would the hardtop be on top of the 17k?

Overton, I saw that truck on your site. It's at the top end of my range so I am going to be a little more picky. As stupid as it may sound, that may be the only TLC color I can't get behind. If it were any other, I may have already made an offer on it.

I seem to recall a late model green BJ40 for sale on the forum last year somewhere in Nebraska or the Dakotas. It was a nice one too. I can’t find it though because only trucks listed from last fall are showing up.

I'll probably regret it, because yes, it looks very nice.

This one is just down the road from you in Fremont, NE

Check this one out in California. Quality truck

Excuse my french, but I ****ing love that. What am I missing that it hasn't sold?

I guessed you might by your profile picture. I talked with the guy on offerup a few weeks ago. He's a cruiser guy and has several. He seemed dumbfounded why it hasn't sold yet. It's a rad rig. Whoever scoops it up is going to be happy in my opinion. Hit him up.... he was very responsive and helpful. Best of luck. Post back if you buy it.

My guess is it hasn't sold because it's listed in Cali only. Nobody wants to deal with the post 1975 smog B.S. out here.

You are right. My profile pic is the first 40 I owned and I wish I had never sold it. Went through a rough patch where I just needed some cash. Should have found another way.

I've got some stuff I regretted selling too. Life happens. Cool you are in a better place and looking for something new to fill the void.

Looks on offerup like he also has the truck listed in AZ now and has it there. I think he lives in SoCal but has a place in AZ??? His AZ listing has a few additional pix 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser for Sale in Sierra Vista, AZ - OfferUp - https://offerup.com/item/detail/1540929571

I thought about making him an offer, but I just don't have a proper place to store something that nice.

Sounds like a fun road trip to me, Nebraska to Arizona.

That one sold in Las Vegas not too long ago, so he hasn't had it long. Cool he fixed some of the rust and kept those original old school graphics. Really cool 40. 😎
