Byw,It says they don’t fit a gx470, I assume because of the arm rests. There is a video on YouTube
I noticed that too but apparently some do...

I had my icon rebounds installed today.. not the pros, straight rebounds, which btw icon makes a rock rash ring that bolts on... those are on order..

Installed Icon Rim Rock Rash Rings on the Rebounds.(tongue twister) I'm sure other rim manufactures do such things.. just really cool and functional. I'm impressed..

Put around 400 miles on my lift and 80 with the bumper on. Now have to decide to I keep my ome 885s or bump up to 887s (which I have in the garage). The only extra weight coming will be an asfir skid which weigh 5ish more lbs than stock. I already have a winch with synthetic installed, just waiting on a line shackle mount.

Rig looks great!

Got the Lil B’s bumper + apex badlands winch + Amazon special lights installed. Ignore the missing light on the passenger side. Need to attach a plug to it tonight.

Install went fine for never having done this before. Lil B’s provides decent pictures for the install.

One issue: hood can’t shut with the apex badlands winch. Already removed the control box for relocation (no clue where I’m gonna mount it yet). The plastic box to cover the extended wires sits too high.

Any thoughts on how to remedy?

So I’m at work and guess I deleted the pic of what I did but I used this guys pic as guidance. He build two little brackets, I should’ve but ended up bolting it with the factory clamps from my winch (OpenRoad 9500)

That looks great!

For whatever reason, the control box on the apex badlands winch is massive. I’m probably gonna end up buying a small, waterproof box and moving the electrical components to it. I would like to put the controls in that spot, though.

Yeah everything about that winch is huge but they have great reviews. I wanted one but Lil Bs recommended swapping to their heavier duty mounts for a winch over 10k.

And here’s my actual setup. The sticker is peeling so that’s custom lol
Did you end up having to trim the mounting studs to fit D rings? Or I guess soft shackles would still work.

Sorry to be ignorant but, what are "887s and 885s"?

OME front coil part number, 2885, 2887.

I spent some time over the weekend to wet sand and clear coat my headlights. I used 2k clear and the finish is very good but I have pretty significant amount of crazing in the lenses. This bought me some time before I have to replace them.

Also replaced the bulbs with Phillips H9 and 9011 bulbs.

Since we are sharing winch solenoids here’s mine I finished a few weeks ago. It’s an Albright solenoid and I also remote mounted the control plug. I wanted to keep the constant hot wire as short as possible so I mounted it on the drivers side.

I trimmed the Apex control box and mount to fit it in that spot. Held in place with the 2 upper bolts going into the fender sheet metal.

Lights came out great!

Thanks for the info on the springs, I continue to learn from you guys..I've been going down the rabbit hole on springs now.. I notice some folks complain about the 2886 being too stiff even with the front loaded up. So I wonder...

Edit..

Icon sells a 158508 spring, I'm thinking this is up front on mine but I'll crawl under tomorrow and verify. I'm thinking it's Icons answer to the OME 2886 spring.

Anyway ,,, specs:

14.00" x 3.00" Black Coil Spring - 700lb./in. Spring Rate

Please consult an ICON representative for information on supported applications.
Features & Benefits:
  • 14.00" free length, 3.00" inner diameter, 700 lbs./in spring rate
  • Great option for certain applications to support added front end weight over stock
