Dude I live on a pine tree farm. Everything here is yellow unless it’s locked inside.

Today has been a good day of wiring.

I got the Sniper all wired up. Added a @Coolerman fusable link. Crazy how the early trucks did not have them. Power on the large white went through the starter.

Wired up the 1 Wire mod internal regulator alternator.

Moved the oil pressure sensor wire from driver to passenger.

Fixed some PO wires on the heater fan. Confirmed it worked with the PowerProbe but it’s not working at the switch.

Wipers work.

Lights work. High beams work.

Grill lights work. Blinkers work.

All good news so far.

I recently did the coolerman fusible link as well. I too was surprised there was no protection on that system. I kinda assumed there was.. Yikes!

In order to get gas into this thing I’ve got to get the transmission hump in.

This is a bitch. No way around it. In the truck. Out of the truck. Over and over.

I went with a one piece case to simplify the mounting (use original rear motor mounts) and a stock ebrake setup.

This makes the former easier but fabbing a crossmember for a split case allows you to lower the rear of the driveline to clear the hump. It’s tight but it fits.

Still working it.

Finished up the hump. Added rivnuts where the captured nuts are MIA.

Lined the underside of the hump and while that’s drying I rebuilt the e brake.

I’m not sure how many of these I’d have to do a year to not make this job suck. It always kicks me harder than it should.

Bled the clutch and has to trim a body channel for the slave to have a full stroke.

Tcase pumped full of 90 wt.

Rear shaft fits perfectly

Quick question, what are the battery terminals you're using on blue? That looks like something I would like to put on my 80.
Finally got spammed again

Got the hump installed with an SOR gasket and lined with DEI trans hump heat shield. This stuff works great.

Now that the heater is back in, I can add coolant. I use 1/2 distilled water and full strength green in these 2Fs. I add the water first in case I messed something up. It’s easier to clean water….

I made a tactical error not cracking open the fuel tank until today. It’s got rust so I stripped it down and had to take it to my shop to get it boiled out. To boot, the vent I was planning on using for the return is all mangled. It was hidden by a hose.

I have the Wizard lined up to get a return bung installed. The tank shop usually turns them in a day. Until then I’m plumbing the rest of the fuel system and figuring out a fuel pedal/cable setup.

These late 40 pedals are the easiest ones to make work with the Lokar cables. Mount. Then drill a cable sized hole through the flat plate and just run the cable in until it bottoms out.

Waiting on a call from the tank place. Got the fuel lines done. Pump wired. Wires loomed.

Just a tip for future fuel system works. Replace those ugly ass hose clamps with these one time use pieces. Looks more racecar and less auto zone.

Clamping tool:

I have one of those setups and I do use them in places that I don’t ever think the fuel line will have to come apart.

Nothing worse than a novice mechanic on the side of the road trying to change a fuel filter, pump or hose and a screwdriver won’t do the trick.

Added a new speedo cable.

New speedway wiper arms and blades.

@SMG door pins

Now I’m going to hope the guy wanted to do my fuel tank today ….

I sure would like to hear this thing run before I head out of town tomorrow.

He is so slow but especially slow in his own Wizard warren.

I forgot to get a pic of this all welded up but this immediate 90* was needed to clear the bottom of the seat. Wizard welded them together and it’s got a hose clamped to it. Then he welded a stainless washer to the Earl’s nut for extra strength

Seat is in. It all fits. This is not the period correct tank but it is an early 18 gallon out 40. Fits fine.

I hated to stop but we are leaving before dawn for St Thomas until Wednesday. I have it ready to take gasoline and fire off when I get home.

About 150 hours in finishing Week 7 of this build and now I’m looking at what’s left to do.

@OPMACHINE bumpers must be getting close to ready.

I’m looking for a used 8274 if anyone has one

Cruiser Corps shipped the headliner today. I’m taking the top to the glass place when I get home and hopefully the headliner place right after.

Not sure what will pop up after that but it’s getting damn close.

We spent a week down there for our honey moon a few years back. It’s a cool place. Big Storm changed it since then I’ve read. I figure I’ll end up on a boat and a small house in that region when I’ve had enough of people and my daughter is grown and gone. I’ve wondered about the fun bartender at a fun local place called Jens we liked to eat at a few times. His nick name was “party Marty”. It’s closed since the storm but he was something like the history guy in the downtown or at least said he was. Gave us lots of good food suggestions and local spots to hit.
Hopefully the airport runways gotten longer.
Hope you have a good trip. Wear sun screen
