This 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 spent most of its life with a prior owner in the Pacific Northwest before I brought it to Maine in 2019.
The truck is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission. I also have the original four-speed manual transmission, which I will include in the sale. Features include a removable hardtop, manually locking front hubs, manual windows, rear jump seats, Thule brand roof racks, tow hitch receiver, Hi-Lift jack, jerry can fuel tank and carrier, and a Warn brand winch (fully functional). There are several tears in the gray vinyl upholstery on the front seats, as well as some manageable rust on the undercarriage (please see photos). The odometer reads 66,938 miles.
Since owning this vehicle, I have had the following parts installed/repaired by a certified technician in the past three years: new OEM brake master cylinder, new OEM radiator, new head gaskets, and a carburetor rebuild. My mechanic tells me it would pass Maine state inspection today.
Results of a recent engine compression test are as follows: COLD: 175, 160, 165, 155, 150, 150. HOT: 175, 165, 170, 165, 170, 165.
