Finally got wiring done. Took a while fabricating brackets for the switch pro buttons, another bracket for main kill switch for the winch and winch relocation mount. Almost time for timing belt service.

Bidding on this rig. Does anyone know how to fix/restore/replace the black trim around the drivers window. Tried searching but couldn’t find anything.

@chatt100
These are super easy. I did all four of mine in about 30 mins.

Well....are you the winning bidder?

What is the purpose of that wiring harness?

The HID lights need a bigger wire to power them direct from the battery. There is also a relay in the harness. The harness was really high quality and very easy to do. I think I could have got what I needed from TRS but @jerryb Makes a better one.

Did you buy that legacy TRD roof rack sticker/decal, or did you make it? I like it...

I got it from someone on etsy.

Just finished a Dissent front and rear bumper install. Ended up turning into an actual nightmare however it's over now.
Mounted the Apex Badlands 12k winch inside the bumper without the control box. The shop and I planned on how to move the control box and decided on right in front of the airbox on the passenger side. From the pictures I am happy with it but we will see if I can downsize the box a little bit and relocate it at a later date.

Took some time to knock out the basics on my '04 LC. The past few days it got a new battery, heater tees, fuel filter, MAF cleaning, and throttle body cleaning.

Felt good to work on baselining it and also gave a good chance to get closer eyes on every corner of the engine bay to find and replace old hoses or clamps, tighter loose bolts, and clean up a little. I was happily surprised that it had the correct coolant in it and was able to purge a lot of air while burping the system.

Waiting to see if this all helps my fuel economy, but I'm not too hopeful!

Whelp, I finally sorted out the mishmash of randomly sourced power steering stuff that was previously installed on my rig. Then was abruptly stopped in my tracks by tortoise mating session. Apparently chasing tail supersedes any park use.

Just a heads up for people that might be in my previous position of addressing leaks and replacing power steering lines. Aftermarket and OEM alike are ( at least in the southeast USA/SE Toyota out of Jacksonville) producing only the 2005 and up LC/LX high pressure line with the slightly larger pressure terminal on the pump side, requiring a different banjo gasket (44327-30040) and requiring higher torque spec (61lb/ft) instead of the FSN recommended 42 lb/ft. Leading to random guessing and warranty replacements. 1 new OEM p/s pump, 2 rebuilt (new gaskets) OEM pumps, a new air control valve (cause I broke two removing lines several times not paying attention), 2 new OEM high pressure lines, 1 aftermarket low and high pressure line, 1 OEM vacuum line set, 1 new OEM reservoir, 1 new OEM cap, and new Servicerite aftermarket rack, 1 OEM rack, 555 inner and out tie rods in an attempt to figure the source of leaks. Next time, I will just replace the entire system the first time.:rofl: HA!

Oh, and my tilt and telescoping wheel suddenly started working again without explanation. Motors were replaced six months ago but did not resolve the problem then.

Please don't do what I did. Thank you to everyone that helped me out with great ideas and advice. I am humbled by the awesomeness here. Sincerely, thank you.

I've been endlessly chasing a rattle on my rear axle / left wheel area and I swear if it's just my hub caps I'm going to slap someone.
It could be, one of mine was pretty loose and I just put a small square of duct tape on it and it’s as tight as the new one the PO put on the truck just before I got it.

Modified some 9005 bulbs to work in my fog lights and added yellow film to protect the lenses and help with poor weather visibility. For those that didn’t, you can grind off the two tabs inside the connector of a 65w 9005 and use them in place of a 55w 9006. This is a cheap and easy upgrade for better visibility at night. I used to upgrade with HIR halogen bulbs but they have gone up to $25ish each for the reliable brand name ones. I considered LED replacements but they weren’t in the budget right now and the last few different brands I tried on a previous vehicle weren’t as bright as the halogen ones they were supposed to replace. This pair of 9005 Phillips bulbs was about

The yellow film I used is Vvivid Plus from Amazon. I prefer Lamin-X but Amazon messed up my order a few years ago and sent about 5 times as much as I ordered. The Vvivid isn’t as clear as the Lamin-X and doesn’t do compound curves as well either but it does the job and from about 5 feet away it looks fine.
