Do you have pics of before and the carnage? Curious of where the failure was at specifically.

Here ya go

Went up into the Tillamook National Forest with some friends with the 80. I’ve run about 800 miles since updating the entire cooling system but this was the first “stress” test as we hit some snow. Had a great time, too, except for my buddy who got stuck in the snow in his Land Rover Disco2.

My stock 1997 had no problems what so ever…I didn’t think it would…
Also joined…the above mentioned Disco2, a 2011 YJ, and a 2022 Gladiator.
My knuckle rebuild kit with bearing arrived last week, also!

Am I missing something or is there an actual difference from the 90/91 years compared to the other 80s? or even the JDM's from the US models? Practically every aftermarket site I see says fitment for 91-97 or 92-97. asking in reference to lifts, arms, etc

This is literally the damage/ pics that made me decide to stop building my primary 80 and buy Sweet Brown on diamonds. Pretty sure I'd be heading for exactly the same stress cracks otherwise.

Thanks for sharing. And that had to be a horrendous trail fix.

Trail fix was great... I ran the gauntlet at slick rock going up... I didn't know I went up the gauntlet and thought the buggy line was the gauntlet. Stopped and was looking for the right line up the buggy line when I saw my axle leaking.

So I drove to the top and nick helped me fix it just after the rest of our group made it up

If you can I'd consider getting a set of tools to just crimp in a pin rather than splicing in, would last longer and it'll definitely come in handy again
Yah I have depining picks and everything under the sun for crimping soldering. The issue is the wire broke and is to short now. I’m gonna solder in a new wire and terminal splice. Toyota makes these just for this application.

Ah what a bummer, didn't realize it was that bad. Definitely post up the process with those I'd be interested to see the process
