In line to get LS swaps right?
Um... actually the white Omani is getting the 24 valve turbo diesel from the silver RHD to LHD conversion and the silver 80 is getting the tired normally aspirated 12 valve diesel from the white Omani 80. Has to do with keeping registration in the UAE and my desire to have the power and power band of the 24 valve turbo in one of my favorite vehicles, the white Omani 80.

Also the white Omani 80 is getting its engine bay cleaned and freshened. The white truck is a real keeper. Barn doors, simple, no air bags. Just a really nice platform. The RHD to LHD silver 80 has been too much a pain in my rear to keep. Let someone else have the fun of cleaning up the wiring under the dash.

And just to keep on topic, we went out in the desert for a BBQ this evening:

That's my 105 there in the back. The one in the front is a ultra-low-mileage diesel 70 series also owned by a Mud member. The 200 is owned by a friend of mine.

I was up in Sharjah buying the guts of a 70 series dashboard to add factory AC to Iota, my 95 pickup. While there I saw a cool 100 series. Japanese fire captain's car. 2005 or 6 I think.

The engine bay was oh so pristine! These fire trucks come to the UAE typically with under 20k km. But all RHD, so of little to no interest to me. But that engine bay...

If he parts it out, I am having this!

Super duper solid. Steel I think.

Stereo/Display/HVAC setup in that year LC is a big find if he does part out. I'm sure someone on the boards here would want you to grab it.

I did not look closely at that. From the photo it looks like the HVAC is push-button. Interesting point.

I did not know that the 100 moved to a 5 speed auto at the end.

Landed in Tokyo last night. Took a classic Toyota Crown taxi to our hotel and then this morning got a ride in a new style Toyota taxi modeled after the classic London taxi. I also spotted a pretty sweet Japanese National Police 200 series guarding the Imperial Place, the official residence of the Emperor’s family.

On a shinkansen bullet train at the moment. Headed to Toyota City Yoshiwara Plant to see 70 series and 300 series rolling off the assembly line. Ill post up what we find!

My guess was between $12k and $24k. $12K being what I would want to pay, $24k being what folks think they want to pay these days. Lol... Not a terrible deal but I guess the days of cheap cruisers are over... at least for now. Good looking truck though. My favorite color on the 60.

Drive past the lot most days heading to work; it's still there.

Mission Accomplished… got to watch 300 and 70 series rolling off the assembly line, driven to the lot and put on car carriers. Pretty fun little trip! Front desk was super nice and helpful but asked that I not encourage tourists to make the journey as all Toyota Factory Tours are still on hold at this time. Regardless it was worth the taxi ride from Nagoya where we’re visiting family this week.

That's awesome you could bring your kid to experience. Start em young

....Think you can fit some 100 series parts in your carry on?

What do you need?

Yeah, for $35-40 a pop by someone importing them. I assume they're in the $5 neighborhood in Japan. These filters are revered in 2F circles.
