Got the axle back under the 40 this morning. A milestone any time something goes back on for good! It’s starting to look like something now.

Having found center on the steering box, I cut the relay rod to length and welded the thread bungs in place.

Started looking into what I need to do to get the hydro assist installed. Found the weld on brackets and heim joint ends and dry fit everything together. And will be figuring out where it will mount.

I was going back and forth if I was going to use the inside snap ring on the birfields or not. I decided to go with a Martack and call it good, it will help with making trail repairs a bit easier.

I was going to finish the assembly of the front axle today but it will have to wait for another day.

Today I got the knuckle rebuild buttoned up. One side is complete minus the locking hub, the other side needs 3 wheel studs before I can finish it off the list. Tomorrow the front should be on the ground with a set of rollers, a milestone for sure as it has not been on the ground in months!
Once again, love working with new/clean parts! Thanks again to Georg at Valley Hybrids for supplying the parts for this build, without Georg, Rob and the metal master guy himself, FC, I would not be able to do any of this!!!

There is still a lot to do, but making progress.

Looks like a work of art!

Finished off the assembly of the front axle, slapped a set of rollers on it and put it on ground for the first time in months. The rear axle housing will be getting yanked out, cleaned and painted. Assembly should go much quicker, hoping to have all 4 tires on the ground next week.

While waiting for paint to dry in the house, I snuck into the garage for a little therapy. ARB installed and torqued down, a big thank you to Georg Esterer and Valley Hybrids for setting up the gears and furnishing the ARB. Waiting on axle bearings and seals to finish it off.
